Great filter that makes for checking your oil as part of race day/race weekend maintenance easy. David Barton of Barton Racing Engines turned me on to K&P

I had a Baldwin B-279 on a sbc engine rebuild. When I cut it open it looked well manufactured. Don’t know the micron rating, but might be able to find that on their website. I’d consider using them if Wix is now manufacturing the 51061 in China.

I ran System 1 25 micron for decades. These seems to be similar

The K&P is better engineered than the old System One, in my opinion

They are very nice and super easy to take apart and clean

I'd run one myself if I was still racing...

We buy Wix filters in bulk orders and have a very large filter room full of mostly Wix filters....

I never noticed they are made in China now but from the video it appears the quality is fine and we've had ZERO problems using them for years

I crush and dispose of many hundreds, maybe thousands.... during a years worth of business.....

Everyone but me running plain old passenger car filters? That is what he was comparing, not the race filter....I run the 51515R

Are the race filters made in cheeeeeyina too?

I played the micron rating flow rate game over the years and you cant have your cake and eat it too. Low micron, excellent filtering, poor flow.

You don't want a passenger car micron rating filter on a serious race engine.

Looks like you failed to watch the entire video. Go watch the end when he compares the media using a microscope, or not.

I use Wix 51061 that are 21 micron, none by-pass and rated 9-11 gpm. I cut them to inspect interior and remove the filtering material and spread out if I suspect something wrong. I use 10w30 oil.

My car came with a System 1 filter and I did not like having to service the oil filter cartridge when changing oil. K&P Engineering filter more of the same (watched video). I prefer a spin on disposable filter that can be filled with oil prior to installing.

You're right I did not see the microscope check

I just took a random look thru our Wix filter stock and the vast majority of oil filters are Made in the USA and we turn over a lot of filters constantly so they are not old stock

51061 Made in USA
51515 Made in USA

I did see one made in South Korea and a few made in Mexico but basically no Made in China's

The diesel filters are still NOT available and it's been months.....No Onan 149-2513 No Wix 33063.....Ridiulous !!

Only ones I see are cheap Made in China knockoffs on Amazon and I don't trust those....

Amazon lists the Wix 51061 Country of Origin as China now. Probably see these show up in the future.

Wix offers the 51060 XP that is synthetic media and made in the USA. Same none by-pass valve but with an anti-drain back valve. I viewed this Wix XP / K&N review on YouTube and appears to be good.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdTfOps_lV8 does the microscope test at 11:00

China is the model

100 million chinese on lock down currently for covid, media here is silent on happenings in china.

China is transitioning back to a hard line communist dictatorship currently, welding doors shut to lockdown citizens in their closet apartments, in high rise buildings.

I just bought several 51061 Wix filters for our street muscle cars, and 2 other / different part numbers, (1 each for my son's 2018 Silverado and girlfriend's Traverse from Amazon). All 6 of the filters are date coded in the past 2.5 months, and all were made in the USA.

I wonder if the majority of the overseas production will be for econobox cars?

I use the big Wix 51794R 1.5 Qt filters on my race BBC's. I have a good supply of them, but may buy some more as a hedge against the globalist BULLSHYT movement.

It's pretty bad in china still (lockdowns). I'd imagine it's not as profitable to a degree, producing amongst the madness.

I use a 51061 as well, never even bother to look where they're made anymore, I did that for 20 years.

It's futile, unless everyone stands up, and Americans aren't even standing up against the replacement migration taking place currently.

Madness

Did you check with them before ordering or did you just take a chance?
