Flexplate on backward, by chance? I’ve done it in the embarrassingly recent past.

Is this a new issue on a previously running engine?
If so, check crankshaft thrust.
If not take a look at Tony's ^^ suggestion.

Look for run out if I am understanding correctly. TCI's cheaper plates are imported.

Stamped steel flexplates can have a lot of run out from batch to batch.

Make sure your water pump is on whenever you check your coolant level.

Is it radially or axially that it’s hitting?
