But right now its getting the DPF replaced because its bad at 52k miles!!!

Has had both NOx sensors replaced, def heater, and def injector replaced. GM got involved with the truck (I suspect the tech was misdiagnosing the issue, and it was the DPF the whole time).

Long story short I'll be 4,700 in this. And at 52k I just don't really understand why the DPF is bad already. I can't be the only one who doesn't use the truck strictly
for towing in the US.

I don't know why this would cost you anything out of pocket? I believe the Duramax has a 100K Powertrain warranty, and I know federal law requires all emissions-related equipment to be covered for 100K miles, (this includes all DEF components). My def tank heater failed at around 70K miles, and the entire tank/heater assembly was replaced in 1 day at no cost to me, including a free loaner truck.
