My wagon hits way to hard off with the t-brake. So I bought a MSD timing retard box and was wondering what would be the best kind of switch/button setup to be used on the shifter when it's in first gear to soften the hit. then short shift to second for full timing. The car foot brakes fine but has traction issues with the 9" slicks. | ||

Grid can be made to work with FB just like TB. Just takes an additional relay, toggle switch and a couple extra wires. | |||

With flash stall of the converter it torques up pretty bad and still will break the tires loose on anything less than a fly paper type track. I'll figure a switch system out. | |||

.....Then your not dropping the rpm enough. Drop it down low enough and it will work. Done it before. I can tell a huge difference in the hit when chipped at 2800-3000 (bottom bulb) vs 3400 (top bulb). This is with stall around 5500. Tony Leonard | |||

Grid and don't ever look back. My car was out of control with wheelies and the grid allows me to dial the car down to a very consistent launch. It's simple to use and connect and it controls everything you need it to. Best addition to my race program. Configuration: 3350#, 582 C.I., 60 - 1.24 1/8 - 5.53@ 126MPH 1/4 - 8.73@ 159MPH 3700#+210lb driver, FULL interior, through mufflers, 10.5 tire. 60'-1.333 (IN 4000ft DA! Is your converter spragless yet? I've been down this road.... Tell us a little more about your ride..... Trans? Rear gear? Converter stall? Footbrake or transbrake? HP? I could never set my 2-step higher than 3800 before I went spragless, now I think it would leave on the wood, except it already scared me at 4500. This is an old thread but I wondered the circuit that Mark was describing to start pulling timing with a Grid in footbrake. | |||
