I’m currently running a hardtail dragster with a 440 SBC, 4.86 gear, and 33x15 tire, going 4.80s. I’m switching over to a 4-link dragster with Little Bubbas and trying to keep the same ET.
What rear gear would you recommend starting with?

I’m not a dragster guy but I’ve been thinking about your question. You’ll probably gain some weight on the four link car so I would think you might need a tiny bit more gear to get things moving but I can’t imagine I would want less. I don’t know your rpm now or what you want to limit it to at the stripe though. Tough question to answer.

On another note that’s a good running small block.

just a wild ass guess i would stay with gearing you have.

On my first hardtail car I went from a 14x32x15 slick to a 14.5x33x15 and it dropped my finish line rpm by about 800rpm
