I'm look for recommendations for a shop or fabricator to put a 6 point roll bar in my car while keep the full interior intact . I'm in the south central Pa area. Thanks in advance.

I can’t recommend anyone but I had the same done in my Chevelle 21 years ago. My advice is to use chrome moly and go through every detail with the fabricator of exactly what you want, don’t assume he knows. Tell him you want the roll bar and rear bars as tight to the roof and side of the body as possible. Have him show you his plan. Also the fabricator must remove and reinstall the interior. Last, make sure to tell him that you want your door arm rest left untouched. FYI, both my side bars were swing outs.

Good abvice from Ed.

My Chevelle is a cut up shyt box because I wanted to go fast. If I knew better 30ish years ago, I would do what Ed suggested.
My car is streetable but no door pulls or back seat. I also got rid of my triple chromed bumper for fiberglass. Don't do that!!!

Not sure how far you want to travel but I would look into Rhodes in Delaware. He does nice work.

Cool

Check with S&W.. They might be able to help, either with doing it or recommending someone local.

Find someone that specializes in stock and super stock. They have an
eye for working around the interior.Vic & Dwayne Custer at Eastex Race Cars are as good as it gets in the SS & COMP design. Not close to you but they might able to point you in the right direction.

If you want to head west, there are some good ones over on this end of the state:

Bob George Racing (AJ Casini)
JK Fabrication (John Koziel)
Cage Rage Fabrication (Nathan Chesler)

All on FB, no websites.

On my 71 Nova I ran the bars threw the rear package tray . looks better and the back seat still has room.It might have been the 1st one done like that in my area. My interior has all been redone. Swing out bar and all. I may be wrong but I think that the bars run my way could be stronger. My car is not cut up either. Not at #3800 with me. I will sell the car or build another one before building my new 572. Will need many different bars. I have had this car about 36 yrs. Good luck with how you choose to build yours I hope it is done your sway, My advice go slow and do it right, I have a 74 Nova good footbrake car semi gutted might put the 572 in it.

YUP ........ And I'd consider spending a little more and go right to an 8.50 cert cage, in moly of course. Safer, always room to go faster and better resale are my reasons for that.

Thanks for the advice it is helpful. I believe I've found a shop ,1320 fabrication in Glen Burnie MD. They will be using chrome moly, tig welding and fully painting with epoxy. Waiting on the full estimate, over the phone he said cost was going to be around 4500$

That’s an understated TT
Way too much for a 6 point bar.

Yea, that cant be right....I don't get too excited about those types of side jobs anymore, but if we were closer, Id probably do a six point on three different cars for you in CM and still feel good about the earnings!

Agree, cost of living, gas, wire, tubing, electric, consumables etc. must be outrageous in MD!

Find another guy! You should easily be able to get the right job done for half that price.

Certainly sound very high but,,,, if he is looking for the chassis shop to remove the dash and whatever else is in the way to install the bars and then trim the dash etc and reinstall this stuff, the hours can add up fast! I have seen some real nice installs and it don't happen in a few days.
