Ok, 1320 let me get this straight. You are doing business with an alleged "dealer" and have not talked directly to APD (the manufacturer), so a civil discussion with the builder has never taken place, correct? Are the facts and truth correct so far? If you've had this trouble with a third party ("dealer") without resolution why would you NOT confer with the manufacturer regarding the alleged issue/s you claim to have?

As for the website membership charges, I'm left to believe you didn't bother to make that call either; or you did and received credit for the over-charge already, but still continue to complain about the mistake...

I had a Pro Systems built gas carb years ago and it was steller! When I decided to go Alky I had APD convert the pro systems carb for me. It worked even better than I imagined it would, picked up .3 (three tenths) and was exactly what was desired for fuel cost savings, added performance, consistency and exceptional cooling capability during late round competition. I was and am a satisfied customer, with regards to both builders. I've chosen APD to continue with subsequent engine and carb builds because of the service, tuning input, personalized service after the sale I and everyone I know gets from them (APD the manufacturer)...

Aeromotive A-2000 pump and a Magnaflow 2 port regulator dead headed sending alcohol to an APD 1050 on a 509 ran 7.70’s wide open and 8.90’s so well the only reason I would lose was usually me....the dialin was either 7.75 or 7.76 pretty much anywhere, anytime. I still regret trading off that carb. I have another one but never ran it. APD 1150 alcohol.....

Hey MadDog no apology necessary. I went back and looked at my post and did not mean to have that first sentence in capital letters too big of thumbs I guess. It's all good. You didn't derail it. It would be nice though if when post are made that people wouldn't bash company's on here. A company doesn't thrive from not taking care of business and putting out a good product. Thanks for the replies I hope to have my car together in a couple weeks and try the alcohol set up out.

Evidently not because he lived on the phone with Patrick and did everything Patrick told him to do and it wouldn't run with an OTB Dominator.
And before you say he doesn't know what he's doing he's a mechanic that does my work and I would put up against anyone.
I will say the Prosystems Dominators he swapped them out for runs well.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

So if you have a carb you can't get to run right is it junk or is it that you don't know what you are doing? There seems to be some contradictory information in this thread. HMMMM

yea maybe it's my near 3200 lb. junk that runs 8.70s @ 153 off the footbrake with a Pro Systems 4150/1000HP.

Again, apd customer service sucks! They built me a pos that doesn't idle, doesn't do a clean burnout, doesn't stage cleanly nor launch cleanly...JUNK and they have yet to pickup it up.

I make one comment you don't agree with and now my stuff is shyt...really?
He is a mechanic by trade and did everything Patrick told him to do and it still wouldn't run...how do you explain that Ed?

I've never disrespected you so I'd appreciate it if you'd treat me the same....you don't know what I've got.

stating "he works on your shyt" is NOT the same as stating your stuff is shyt. I refer to my own stuff as junk often. Lighten up, no disrespect intended.

That said, my comments stand regarding the SV-1 and your friend. The fact that he is a mechanic by trade does not qualify him to tune a carb, especially the SV-1.

Ed....they tried one on a 565bbc and a 462sbf and couldn't get either to run right even with Patricks help....they swapped both back out for his Dominators and they ran perfect....my opinion is that it's his vacuum regulator causing the problem.

Ed I love how you’re on here saying we ripped you off.Keep believing your lies I offered over a year ago to make it right but you decided to tell me how great you were instead of letting us try and resolve your issue. At anytime you’d like to call our shop and speak to me,Joe or John we’d be more than happy to still try and resolve your problem. But don’t sit here and act like we wouldn’t help I still have our last convo when you told me you’d send it when you’re ready and refused to let me help you.Lets at least tell the truth not make it seem like we didn’t offer support after you had a issue because that’s definitely not how we work at our shop.419-855-3073 I’ll be waiting for your call and then you can give me your info so I can send a call tag

There's apd's "great customer service, an employee mouthing off on an internet forum with a CUSTOMER that's been very patient, waiting or over a year for a return ship tag that has been promised numerous times including yesterday morning.

Randy, I am great at what I do and apd SUCKS at what they do!

You are correct, it's been over a year and you still haven't emailed me a call tag!!

Send the tag for this POS, make it right or STFU!!

The "truth and facts" are: APD has an overwhelming number of satisfied customers. Unfortunately sometimes "that one guy" happens to have an issue. The one that can't be satisfied no matter the level of effort to reach a resolution...

Anyone in any type of business will sooner or later encounter an individual like this. Best to agree to disagree and move on...

Most would agree, that's the type of customer you are better off NOT having...
