S/C718I put the braille on my new 2023 American. I have only ran it once this year and I am impressed with the battery. I cant give any info to what it saves in ET since its a new car. When I talked to Braille at the PRI show they did mention a 10 min charge and it would be 100%. I haven't seen that. It has been taking about 20 min to 30 min to fully charge.

seabassI’ve been on Lithium since 2013-2014, never a issue, currently using Volt Phreak batteries with excellent results… I use 2 , mostly cause I had them, started with 1 and was only slow starting when it cold out on the first start up, so I added the second one….don’t forget and leave them on as it ruins them. Mine has a auto shutoff to prevent this from happening, but you can add a shutoff to the car to prevent this as well, dad did to his

When tinbanger's car had a minor fire in the pits at the bracket finals at Atco a few years back, insurance paid for the repair and he was happy with it the outcome. It needed all new lexan and either a new decklid or bodywork and paint. He had it through Bill Horton:

1320racerBraille's B168L and charger are enroute. The plan is to start the season with the current XS D1600 battery and within a month swap to the Lithium battery. I’m leaning towards putting it in the nose. Either way I need to get a mount.

Was your alternator’s output adjusted for the battery?
March 31, 2023, 10:04 AM
Mike RietowCostelllllo spent some time talking with this guy at Bradenton last weekend. The number he mentioned is $1300, I think the charger is $300, but not *exactly* sure on either.

Steve VanderSlootI did not. Per Braille tech support.
Each vehicle has different amp loads, so to ensure you have the correct alternator, you need to figure out the max peak amp draw of the vehicle, add 20-25% more and then you know the amperage output you need if you want the alternator to run the car and charge the battery.
The voltage should be roughly 18.0 volts, which is pretty standard for 16v systems, but there really isn’t any technical data on the website. Hope that helps.

1320racerIt does, guess I’ll let it fly as is, maybe a call to Chuck at ECAE first.

TORQINSteve is correct, my alternators from HOP are adjustable regulators for this purpose.
My Go lithiums take more than 10 minutes to charge as well. 25 to 30 minutes pretty normal and not possible doubled later rounds. Alternator seems to carry it well enough when not getting a full charge from charger I have to add.

Steve VanderSlootI'd be curious to hear what he says.

Steve VanderSlootI've been eyeballing those from Mark for a while. Use his Big Dawg 139. Great product and service on my whooped Dedenbear.

Mike RietowI just put a HOP 139 on my sbc, I need to weld the driveshaft to the flexplate, hold the starter button for a pass.
It's totally ridiculous.

1320racerI don’t know yet what Braille’s warranty is but I have a money back guarantee from the vendor if I’m not happy with it for any reason.
