This statement is Not correct for the OP that is using a 7al2 ignition. Grid and 7al2 are compatible and ALL the rpm limits are set in and controlled by Grid 7730 through the Legacy cable. That statement would apply to using Grid 7730 with 7al3 or Digital 7 and the legacy cable would be omitted. |

I have not had luck with a 7AL2 and a grid and the legacy cable, but I have only done 1 or 2 since most already had 7al3's. I always try to encourage my customers to go full 7730/7720 if they have a 7 to begin with. The grid and a 6al is a nice combination though if the customer already has a 6. I even wired a grid to a digital 6A, that was a fun one. |

| ^^^^ On 7al2 I could possibly agree with you if the problem occurred when the OP engine rpm was on the 2-step or high chip (max rpm) setting. This is where the 7al3 fails to work correctly, 2-step and max rpm with Legacy. The problem with what I read is that this popping/ missing is at idle or starting. |

This is excellent advice that offers the absolute best from Grid. Combined with the 8261 coil this combination will burn the straps back on the installed spark plugs. Being N/A engine, I no longer check plug gap or index plugs installing. |
