CURTIS REEDMy opinion is the BEST way is to take it apart, clean it, replace gaskets, check/weigh floats, then re-assemble and place on shelf.

^^^ X2. Ensure it is completely dry inside. Bag it, protect it from dust and humidity as much as possible.
So are you taking a year off, or just going with a different setup?

329LAlot of alky fuel guys soak carbs in diesel fuel in a 5 gallon bucket over the winter around here.

EmanI just WD40 it and keep it in a plastic box in the shop. When it crosses my mind I give it another dose of WD40. When ready to use I replace all of the expendable parts after cleaning.

Curly1Definitely get all of the E85 out of it. Soaking it in Diesel sounds good but I would remove the floats first.

Ken Jones is the one that turned alot of us onto using diesel, and he says throw the whole thing in, and when you are ready to race, clean the passages and put it on and works perfectly.

ThurstonGoing to give this a try. What about the gaskets, non-metal floats, and the accelerator pump diaphragms? Also have a little off road diesel with the red die, any concerns here ?
