It's an E85 if that matters.

My opinion is the BEST way is to take it apart, clean it, replace gaskets, check/weigh floats, then re-assemble and place on shelf.

^^^ X2. Ensure it is completely dry inside. Bag it, protect it from dust and humidity as much as possible.

So are you taking a year off, or just going with a different setup?

I just WD40 it and keep it in a plastic box in the shop. When it crosses my mind I give it another dose of WD40. When ready to use I replace all of the expendable parts after cleaning.

Definitely get all of the E85 out of it. Soaking it in Diesel sounds good but I would remove the floats first.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Ken Jones is the one that turned alot of us onto using diesel, and he says throw the whole thing in, and when you are ready to race, clean the passages and put it on and works perfectly.

Going to give this a try. What about the gaskets, non-metal floats, and the accelerator pump diaphragms? Also have a little off road diesel with the red die, any concerns here ?
