I literally tried everything available to stay cooler in my long car. After decades racing in South Fla, the only things that helped was to focus on the things you can do that help the longer day average and how you feel the next day. 1-Have an AC retreat and stay in it as much as possible to lower your core temperature. 2-Hydration is huge. On race day, drink a cold 16 ounce bottle every hour min. Add more if your pea color is a dark yellow. Your pea color is the absolute best way to ensure your hydration is good or bad. Don’t drink soda or sugar drinks before or during the race day. Aim for 0 calories on the nutrition facts label. Alway over hydrate the day before race day and don’t drink any alcohol until 100% done for the weekend. Hydrate like an athlete. Many products designed to improve water for drinking. I used one that’s inexpensive and used by many industrial places. Sqwincher Zero. I use the QuikStix packages as they are easy to add to a std bottle of water. 3-When outside your cool retreat, ware a long sleeved poly **** that’s Sun block of 50 and fast dry and loose. A big floppy hat also helps. Keep the sun off you. Doing these things will definitely improve your fun on long hot days. Not what you asked for, but my share on what will help you more than any in car magic gadget. These sun shirts are excellent and on sale at Costco for $13/ https://a.co/d/ddcCXry 2005 2000lb 4 link dragster home brew 582 BBC Dart 355 1.058 2.98 4.629@149 6.094 7.310@185

Your head is in fact the largest / most effective heat exchanger for your body. Fruit juices, water, and water bearing fruits and melons are my choices for racing in the heat. I have always found that the best way to be cool in the heat is my slow door car, with windows that roll down, the single layer jacket and loose single layer pants, with the open face helmet. I do keep a moistened chamois in the car for dabbing the sweat. I've always felt I had the edge on the fast cars in the heat. They're all bundled up and strapped in, while I'm still standing outside the car sipping a bottle of water, until I'm about 3 or 4 pairs from the burnout box. Raced in Lubbock a zillion years ago and it was 111 in the shade. I lost to one of my friends third round and hate to admit it but I was glad to get out of there. Just no fun at all! I tried the cool suit but I didn’t keep up with it like I should’ve. I’ve worn a few neck coolers over the years but now if it’s gonna be brutal I’ll stay home. Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am.......
