Compressed air supercharging. YouTube channel 1320Video might have the best look at this deal I've seen yet. The no-prep racer known as KC Maxx, I think Ryan Martin is the name, is making this deal work. Very ingenious. Maybe it's been tried, but he's the first I know of to be using it. "Free boost". Pretty lightweight. No parasitic loss. Very low intake temperature. Instant boost, on control. Very interesting. ![]() "Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular." Dave Cook N375

First time that I became aware of compressed air tank racing was at the Don Garlits museum. Garlits had a large steel tank filled with compressed air feeding one of his Hemis mounted on a "sidewinder" dragster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruxXchchC3k Another case of a great idea just needing technology to catch up. Take care. Tom Worthington If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

That is such a great idea and there is much more potential that is untapped such as a Nitrox mix. I talked to the guy who sells the system and he said it can NOT be done. I beg to differ. Nitrox is an air mixture SCUBA divers use in certain conditions where Oxygen level is increased from 21% to 29% or 36% typically. He told me it is the Nitrogen in the air that makes the power. He is mistaken there, it is the OXYGEN, the Nitrogen and other things in the air is just along for ride. To have combustion or fire it requires an ignition source, Fuel and Oxygen. If you can increase Oxygen level in the tanks (Very easy to do) then you can increase the Fuel and power accordingly. Think about it if you increase Oxygen say 10% you can make more power with same volume of air, or use smaller tanks. The down side to it is as Oxygen increases so does volatility of the air. Pure Oxygen would be a bomb, but a 29% mix may be really good? Just like with Nitrous Oxide you have to increase fuel to match if you added Oxygen to the system you would have to add more fuel to match. The advantages of the CAS (Compressed Air Supercharger) is the weather never changes and it is always perfect. When the compressed air is released it cools that helps intake charge, that helps reduce detonation and get a better intake charge. Your tuneup would be more forgiving. There is NO Dust, Smoke or Dirt in the CAS system. The system has the potential to be very consistent because it does not matter how hot, cool, Humid or dry the weather and air is. The air from the tanks have very little if any moisture and is always very cool. Always the same. Water does not compress so when we compress the air we remove almost all of the water, plus for SCUBA divers if there is moisture in the air it could freeze up regulator. So this system gives your motor Clean, Dry and COLD air and pressurized. A Blower or Turbo motor creates heat which is bad, the CAS system the more you use the cooler it gets. No air filter and that is not good for blowers, Turbo or Motor. A blower is heavy and creates a lot of heat and if it picks up a rock or something thrown off tires it messes it up. A Blower takes power to run so if your blower takes 30% of the power to run it your Crank, Rods and Pistons are taking a lot more abuse than you see at flywheel. I do not think the CAS system is any more expensive than a blower or Turbo and has a lot of potential. So it is probably cheaper in long run. The drawback to system is it is relatively heavy, lots of plumbing and you need a source to refill at the track. Also the tanks are fairly large and on most Altereds or Dragsters you would not have a place to mount the bottles. My compressor business I sold High Pressure Breathing Air Compressor so I have considered this deal in the past and it has huge potential. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. Curly, the major limiting factor, as I understand it, is keeping the cylinder heads on the block, and the crankshaft in the block. ![]() "Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular." Dave Cook N375

Can't remember his name but he was a regular at Little River several years back. He talked to me about it when he was first putting it together, turned out to be pretty quick. He is also a Snap On dealer. Dave "It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance." -Thomas Sowell

Lol, Yes, if you used pure Oxygen it would get ugly quick. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability.
