I have spoken with a few on this, is your race car transmission in park when towing in or on Trailer?

yes | |||

Yes, I have seen too many cars come loose and get banged up. I do strap it down in neutral then put it in park so not to kill the park pin though. Done this forever with no issues.

Neutral here. Having come from door cars with lexan windows and I'm not the smallest guy if I got one into park I'd probably never get it back out. We now have one dragster that hangs and two of my three door cars have roll down windows I still leave them in neutral. I've been very lucky and had no cars come loose. Denis LeBlanc

Current car has to be rolled up into trailer in neutral, can’t get in or out to put in park. Other cars in the past have always been in park

Strapped down while in neutral, chassis support under car, then put in park....car never moves an inch despite having gone over some pretty sketchy roads.... Always put it in park after securing all the time downs. Been doing this for as long as I have been racing. 272" Spitzer 540 Chevy The Blower Shop XR1 FTI XPM Series Converter FTI Level 6 Powerglide 3.69@199 .916 60' 2017 Bradenton Heads Up Madness Open Outlaw Champ 2018 PDRA T/D #5 2019 PDRA T/D #2 2020 Retired From T/D Competition.... 2020 Bradenton NMCA Hemi Shootout Winner 2021 getting back into bracket racing with a Gen3 Hemi powered 87 Cutlass.

Winch it in so it's in neutral. Can't open the door to get to shifter when it's in the trailer. Always has 4 straps on it when towing.

Don’t need the door opened to put the shifter in park, leave the window down and lean in which is exactly what we do.

Door car in Park, dragster in Neutral. I once towed about 20 miles with the dragster in neutral and the tie downs removed. The chassis stabilizer was still inflated under the car and was enough to keep it from moving at all. Yikes! Tony Leonard

I saw this question posted on Facebook a few months ago.There were literally hundreds of responses. I can't believe something as simple as this can be so controversial. I've been racing for nearly 40 years.Park for me.Never had any of the problems that people claim to have.Some people have no idea how bad the roads are in Illinois. I wouldn't have it any other way.

This.... tie it down in neutral, then put it in park. Billy Duhs - BD104X@gmail.com

Add in whether you cross the straps or not and it really gets going. LOL ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

In park and straps crossed here to. On another topic,I can't believe how many people have REALLY nice trailers,and don't have a winch or electric tongue jack. Very nice things to have in my opinion.
|

even better is a winch and a hydraulic tongue jack

In PARK.....Yes. Dragster goes in backwards. I started adding a strap to the rear end housing pulling it backwards. It stopped the little bit of movement.
