Thanks Steve. I'll check him out and see how far he is backed up.

Manufacturers will have all the jigs and whatnot to make sure everything is right and true. I've seen a lot of Brodix repairs on their heads. The CNC versions were re-machined and it was very difficult to even identify the damaged chamber.

Just spoke with John at Ferry's. He said he would have them with in the next month. So I'm thinking by the time I took them or sent them someplace else it would take at least that long for anyone else to get them done.
I told him if they are not being worked on or finished at that time I will pick them up and start over.

I have the contact info on the shops/people everyone mentioned. So thanks.

Dave

Thanks Dave I've added to the list if Ferry doesn't work out.

Why would they want to get involved?

The OP IS NOT a customer, not parts sold by them and too busy building new engines and freshening others.

As I’ve already stated, these parts need to go back to the manufacturers but it sounds like the OP already knows that a successful repair is questionable at best.

I don't agree with the can't, won't is the correct term. They are way too busy to deal with stuff like this or they would have to charge more than the normal cost to repair to cover the lost dollars from their new builds and freshen ups!

I have done repairs to many AL heads, some are easy, and some eat your lunch! It's like a box of chocolates, just never know what you're gonna get!

Bruce,
Did you take your stuff to Ferry?
I picked mine up last Monday, I took it to him back in August. Basically untouched, he ground out the cracks, no welding.I ordered a water cooler for my tig and will be welding it up myself.

Good luck.

Dave

-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

3 months ago I told you to send t0 back to the manufacturer and you didn't, all you did was waste your time and still have the same mess and now will attempt to fix it yourself and that too will be a waste of time because it will fail!
