Texas area.

Still looking for a shop that can and WILL repair my block and heads.
Engine dropped a valve seat on the dyno back in March. Parts have been sitting in 2 different shops while owners tripped over them daily instead of getting them out. So I'm looking again for recommendations to get someone to fix them.

I broke a rod at the OG million 3 years ago and have been having a hell of a time with machine shops for the last 2-3 years constant waiting.

Dave

Contact the manufacturer for their recommended local source for repair, if aftermarket parts.

I called Dart, when I torched a head and the recommend QMP Racing. They are an hour drive, but the head looked like new.

We have used them for all of our engine machining work since!

You can alway send the parts back to the manufacturer for repair, but shipping each way can get expensive!

I called Indy Cyl Head. Yes they can repair them (maybe after seeing them).
I just hate to pay the amount of shipping both directions.
I bought a new block from them last month and it cost 550.00 one way and that was at their cost.

It's not that I'm cheap it just seems a waste, if I can get it done withing driving distance.

We have a couple of guys here that can do really great work. MadCap uses Chris Woolverton when they need it. He's VERY, VERY good....

Your best chance of getting it repaired right is having the manufacture fix it. Pay the money!

Terry Haddock only wants to work on fuel stuff. I tried to get him to weld up a KB block years ago. He told me to try to find someone else to do it. I wont go back to someone that doesn't want my work.

Haddock is only about 30 miles from me. It would be nice.

I ran across an ad from a shop in San Antonio that does aluminum engine repair. Supposedly hi performance, so we will see where that goes.

I realize that may be best. But I want to take it to the shop myself. Then I can get an idea of what it's going to cost and the time involved.
I'd be more than happy to let Indy do the work, but if they were to tell me it isn't worth it then I would have blown through more than a thousand dollars in shipping for nothing.
If I can take it to a shop myself and were to get the same answer I would only be out the fuel involved.
It isn't about sending it to them it's about the possible waste.

RM presently does not have a welder in the shop. They use Kebin Kinsley for aluminum welding when they need it. He is as good as they come with welding and fabrication. Not sure if he does blocks. Super nice guy. Give him a call (817) 226-2280. His shop is in Arlington

I know Chris Frank at Frankenstein engine dynamics in Weatherford can do the complete repair on the head, from welding to finish machining, not sure if they would do the block or not
