There's been a video circulating of a guy (?) who had to be drunk or impaired trying first to find the burnout box, then almost crossing the center near the tree, then unable to back the car to somewhere near the starting line, got it staged then proceeded to cross lanes and run over several timing blocks....epic.

My boy knows his name & looked him up on FB. He found the guy had a stroke about a year ago, take it for what it's worth. My understanding of a rumor is the track told him to leave after that incident. IMO, they should have never let him stage in the 1st place, they got karma.

I'm just glad no one got hurt!

That's sad. Frown
But I agree, his family or "friends" should have shut that down when it started looking iffy.

I fully understand the desire to get back on track after an extended illness.

talk about cant get in to the water box. i ran the justin swanstrom swanfest race at rockingham in 6.0. there must have been 250 people in the water box and on the line. it was kind of cool i must say. i felt like a grudge racer doing a burnout through a sea of people.

I put a horn on my roadster for when I race the heads up events. Just getting through the pits can be an adventure sometimes. People hear cars running everywhere and don't realize I'm right behind them. A little beep beep usually gets their attention. LOL

I know that shyt! It was around 2010/11 we were heads-up racing our drag quad in the Carolina's. My one boy was trying to get to the burnout box & couldn't, nobody would move. I told him watch this; I started plowing through people with the quad & yelling get the f..k out of the way. We got to the box!

When he came back to the trailer, he said we are going to get our azzes kicked. I said nope, they saw the quad run & we have their respect now. They parted like the red sea the next time(s) we came up.

It was crazy what we saw back East racing.
