I have pulled 23 inches of vacuum and did not pull oil but that motor was sealed up tight. The problem is not how much vacuum but how much air moves through motor. The more air and faster it moves through motor more oil it pulls with it. One other thing that I have seen cause problem is you have vacuum hose on one head and relief valve on other. That allows air to come into motor on other side and be sucked up through motor and into vacuum hose. The relief valve if you use one should be mounted near the pump so it does not allow any air into motor. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. That is good, it should be on the pump and most motors do not even need a relief valve. So that leaves too much air going through the motor. Possibly lots of blowby or air leak. Or bad location on the valve cover or too much oil up top. Needs to be on highest, driest part of motor. One of my motors I had to put drain back hoses on the heads and restrict oil up top. Start with a smoke test. Cheap easy and will help. You may be able to put one of those covers over the fitting inside the valve cover that blocks some of the oil and lets it drain out bottom but if you are blowing too much air through motor that will not help much. One other thing your vacuum pump helps make horsepower and if you have an air leak it will cost you a little horsepower and could make your car a little less consistent. Something like this will help a little but not resolve issue. https://ppcfittings.com/produc...baffle-fitting-black https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. Curtis we have it in a small tire 98 4th gen Firebird currently bracket racing it. I've been looking for a cheaper end suspended dragster though to put it on and see how it does. We have the mildest pair of pulleys on it offered now and have just footbraked it so far. We currently are freshening the engine and taking some compression out of it. (Was 13.8 because we ran it N/A for 2 seasons prior to this) here is a couple pics... ![]() ![]() ![]()

We had none of this last year. Over the winter we made this 6.0 into a 406. Same boost. We run 6 quarts in the 302-1 pan. Could be that the wind age is just a lot more with this crank. Will smoke it Foxtrot Juliet Bravo

We've always fought getting a lot of oil in catch can with our sbf, it's sealed up but we get a lot of oil up top, but last year added motion raceworks valve cover baffle and their catch can and we get almost nothing now. Scott Smith
