They would never understand NHRA class racing so I tell them I race in a class equivalent to Formula One in expense, but pays in green stamps.

They think I should be committed, whatever the he11 that means!

That doesn't include maintenance on the car, trailer and tow vehicle plus all the time away from work where you earn a living. All to possibly win what ?????? $5,000, makes perfect sense IF you won a Power Ball Lottery.

This is why I think I should get governemnt grany=t to study the reasoning for [people doing this. Hell better than some **** we spent millions to study.Like 7million to learn that married couple who fight a lot have higfher divorce rate. I mean damn who would have thought.LOL

Having run NHRA back when was making good money. I wonder why the hell anyone would build a car to run in it? I could win same money at few loacs tracks at 1/10 the expence. Not the prestigious understood.

I am amazed at cost of rolling chassis for these class. and what folks will pay. But it is what it is.

Add to the $240,000 I mentioned earlier the cost of the necessary work shop, tools and equipment you will need to support your bright shinnie new Top Sportsman race car. Off the top add another $80,000 to $100,000.

Oops , forgot the expense of the crew member(s) and their loss of income while you spend the better part of a year traveling to, and attending 10 to 12 NHRA Division and National events. Maybe you can find a homeless guy (Put down the rock, it's just a suggestion) who will work for food and is happy to live in the trailer.

Of course you can eliminate some of that expense only if you can convince the folks over at Wal-Mart to handle all the maintenance, converter changes, differentials, engine work, etc. (WOW what a credit card debt that'll look like!).

Unrealistic, think again, these cars swallow money at the speed of sound. Meanwhile,,,, look in the stands when you are running, that would be the empty stands vacated by all the spectator running to the concession stands after the fuel cars have run. At best you're seventh level after the four Pro Classes, TAD and TAFC Cars.

Again, all to win what $5,000. I think you need a better Financial Planner, this idea really suxxx, (Power Ball winners excluded.)

Actually, that's not entirely true, my grandkids think I'm cool.
