DRR Trophy |
My goal was 600+HP from this engine combination. 4.310 X 4.00 467 CUIN. 10.3 compression, 238/248/578/608/110 Hyd roller. 781 GM oval port heads, 1.880/2.190 valves, Performer RPM air gap intake, 1 inch open spacer, 1000 CFM 4150 carb. Modified oil pan, with Maxima conventional oil. After the dyno test the engine was tested in my 3490-3500 pound Chevelle, turbo 350, 9 inch slick, in 9 passes the ET didn't vary more than .002, which was was a surprise, DA varied from 1682 to 2000, but a lot of water grains. My question is what kind of performance gain could be expected in 700 DA with lets say 30 GOW and going from a 29.50 baro to a 29.90 baro?

Mark, While it is easier to understand GOW. To do any simulations I need vapor pressure. I can calculate that from temperature and relativity humidity. Stan

Difference between these two conditions in 660 feet, thanks Run 1. 29.50 70 % humidity, .78 VP 132 GOW 84 degrees. Run 2. 30.0 baro 28 % humidity, .19 VP 26 GOW 60 degrees.

Mark, It depends on if the car can using the extra HP early on. I get between .05 and around .12 depending on how well the car 60 foot times improve. Stan

Thanks Stan I'm looking for a 1.28-1.29 60 next time out, so .002-.003 quicker. I'm going to make some changes in the drive line.

Is this 1/4 mile or 1/8 ?? What kinda times it run ??
|
DRR Trophy |
1/8 mile, the track we run is 1/4 as well but they don't set the clocks up for the 1320, and the shut down area is sketchy, so I just run the 660. I've been 6.29 so far with very little tuning, in weather I'd barely considering testing in.
