NO.......pan rail is what it is...a pan rail.....

What are you trying to do, set/check pinion angle? If so that ain’t the way to do it.

Mid plate, front motor plate, or balancer can be used.

I’lm assuming you can’t reach the bell face to measure something relative to input shaft?
It’s not the same, but if you need to use it as a reference, take an old glide case and measure the bell face than the relative angle on the pan face. Once you have that, you easily use the pan face to whatever with sone minor math. Good luck

Thinking out loud here - if you bolted up the transmission WITHOUT the converter, is there room to put a magnetic angle finder on the input shaft?

What is wrong with putting an angle finder on the end of the output shaft? It's just 90° off of what you are looking for. Pretty simple if that is all you are looking to find.

Ya'll are guessing wrong, 62 Galaxie is still trying figure out if his crankshaft is tweaked.
