My XS Power D1600 charger is all I ever used on mine. It charges at a higher rate at first, tapers off, then goes into float when battery is fully charged. Haven't seen a dedicated trickle charger for one yet.

I have a XS Intellcharger set on 5 amps-16 volts. I turned it on 5 years ago, it's still turned on, the D1600 is very much alive and well.

This! I have gone through 3-4 XS chargers in the last few years and I'll never buy another one. One died on me last weekend and Les had one in the trailer. He said they have been very reliable.

It would be nice if this one used a scroll menu with program position indicator/ lights instead of removing a cover to program this unit using dip switches. Perhaps it could be an upgrade in the future.

If I had that many failures, I would be looking for a cause. Had buddy claiming his was bad, but his generator was running at 102 volts and 52 HZ. Everything else ran fine. Or the ones you got were junk.

It's a bunch of different things, Error codes, switches falling apart, lights falling out, meters not working. I purchased one, and it wouldn't work from the factory. maybe they can't handle the vibrations from California roads (?)

The XS chargers come with a warranty. Has anyone ever returned one to the factory for repair?
