Crate engine Ed couldn't tell you if he has a shyt box or not. He's never even seen his own oil pump to know for certain, one way or the other. Now go breast feed your driver, leave the tech to the experienced in the room.

I took a 1.80 out of the Firebird when I was running TS and went to a 1.68. The car ran the same but was much less violent and way more consistent. 104" wheelbase car and we weren't going to be going faster than .998 60ft, but could run teens and 20's in the 1/8th and 50's to 90's in the 1/4. The above is to say there are times to use it, but if you are in a suspended dragster regardless of track conditions and running 4.40's-50's in the 1/8th then the GRID will do a ton of work for you. You know I have raced on those greasy Texas Summer tracks when it is in the 160's track temp and you have to make a change to meet the tracks ability. Multiple ways to skin a cat, just put your effort into the right direction. In your case OP I would put the 1.80 in and make sure you have some tunes in the GRID for those iffy track conditions. Keeping the Socialists and NEO-LIBERALS at bay with FACTS one post at a time !!! Freedom isn't free !!! Thank a veteran, they will actually appreciate it.

Unless you can get the planetary system, (MUST GET ALL ASSOCIATED PARTS WITH PLANET) for under a 1000 bucks, AND you already need a planet, then sure do it. But to get back to where you are running today, you will have to raise the rear gear a bunch. And even then, You wont find enough et to justify spending that money, and that is IF you find the ET. That sonnax planet will cost anywhere from 2400 to 3000, depending on where you buy it from. Jeremiah Hall
