While discussing engine stuff last week with local machine shop guy we got into seat pressures

I think a lot are running way more spring pressure than required to control valve train. I agree too little is bad but at same time think running a butt load over required is equally bad.

I run lighter side valvetrain with Titainium valves, retainers and locks. Pushrods are on stiffer side and not lite and roller lifters are Brad miller and figure decent on weight;

I think half issue had with lifters is spring related. Hell we found few 200 lbs in springs after one run that banged blower at 8800 rpm and did not find out till next run at same rpm.Where new springs recommended by BAE for their heads is why not looked at after first run. telling me you can run slightly higher rpm range seen in bracket car with no issue., Hell add in we did have 52 lbs boost also.

While looking at seat pressure and remembering hardest part of cycle to comtrol is max lift where changing velves direction. Do we really need over 800 or close to almost 1000 lbs pressure? That on a 300# seat, Not sure what have with 700# seat I have heard from others.Serious doubt motor hitting 9000 as is, Use to shift at 10.5k with blower making 52 lbs running 350 seat new and then shim for next run and trash after that. yea spring have gotten better.Plus changing springs on head with hand pulled compressor is PIA when get over 400LB,LOL

So what you run? if over 350# please state why feel need for that much. Like hwavy valvetrain or over 8500 rpm.

WO,

This is how I view most of your posts. 2 typos is not bad, that's a vast improvement over most of your posts but it's not just the typos. You can do as you wish & you seem to even think it's funny. I have enough issues on my own, then to try & figure out what you're trying to post. It easier for me to ignore the posts, than give myself a headache.

We had another member recently post with the longest post with no paragraphs. I started to read it & stopped. People commented on it as hard read. I chose not to comment or finish reading it.

You don't see it as an issue, so it doesn't bother you! Keep on doing what you do. I chose not to voice my view on your subjects or posts 99% of the time.
