Klotz Problem?

Klotz Problem?
Pink crud clogging bypass and pressure gauge. Switched to Klotz last year because I could no longer buy methanol with lube. 8 ounces per drum and this is my 6th drum.

I have been running Klotz since 2005. Never a single problem. Whatever the crud is I would bet it isn't from the Klotz but it is pink from it's dye.

Full quart to a drum always.

Hard to say what the crud is but i have used Klotz at 1/2 qt per drum for 10 years, both with Rons injection and blown alky TD with Enderlie system and never had any issues with any crud in the systems

Look inside your drum and see if there is anything in it. I had a drum with a liner once that failed, but I caught the stuff in the funnel filter before it got in the system

Hard to say as nobody seems to have right answer as to exactly what causes it.

I am using SAME source and top lube as several other people I race with and they have not had any problems. I have had problems with two separate cars from same batch of alcohol.

So I THINK? it is a reaction with the alcohol and water (Moisture from air) and or Top lube? Who knows.

I agree with Curtis that the color of the crud is likely from the dye in Klotz Uplon. Uplon mixes very well with methanol or gas. I add a full quart to a drum (over 10 yrs) when I pick it up so it mixes on the ride home. At the end of the year I switch my EFI from methanol to pump gas and add Klotz Uplon to the gas to keep the injectors lubed.

The gauge does not stay on the car. It is capped until I need to check pressure. I think if this problem was older than my use of Klotz, there should be blue crud in the cap then pink crud. All the crud is pink.
