Wondering if anyone is running a DSR dual gear style pump. Have one was a 7.0 gpm and last tested was at 6.65 @400 pump rpm.

Two questions. Is drop normal? I know with big dual gear pumps we ran on A/fuel a drop was norm but stayed there after initial beak in we will call it. Since a 40 gpm plus pump may be different with 7 gpm.

Second if had pump flowed and have data would like to see curve or chart if possible, I will be getting mine flowed this winter but doing some number running nd like to get ide of flows on these pumps and know not all are same.

I have ran an Enderle 80 pump for hundreds of passes and I do not even know how many years I ran it with no loss in performance. I always run a data logger and measure fuel pressure. No loss in pressure.

Unless you are running Top Fuel or some class where you are required to run one pump and it is maxed out then I would never send one in to be flowed. For a bracket racer just seems like a total waste of money.

You are bracket racing, if it was losing a little performance (and I doubt that it is) you just change jetting a little. But from my experience they do not wear out much. Run it. Find a better place to spend your money where you will get a return on your time and money.

Iknowsomepumposonly run or die.Enderle is one of those. Fiurst ran enderle in 1986 and have plenty of them go bad 1st one fromhaving tankin rear and pump going dry once or twice.HAve self feel of bad onesmost in 20gpm range.

Ialsoknowdualgearstyle pumpswill wearand drop off some, With big pumps we send them in for refresh and test , When get them back they are down little from new but hold steady.

Personally I have pumps tested regularly. How else will you lnow what it was doing if die and buy new one as far as jetting for new pump. Then I drop pan and check bearings, yanks transmission and pull hogs head lot more frequent than 99% here. Also run valves if car has set more than day after last run.if nothing else, Most of time I run spring test when doing valves if been more than 10 runs. I know not needed in most opinion. just what have done for decades and gives me warm fuzzy feeling knowing checked.

May be waste of money to some to test pump every year but I do and will do as long as mess with race car. Well if get flow meter for data logger may not do since will be able to track flow. If not for cost would have one on car now

Plus if dumping one of blue jugs( the go faster stuff) into mix I want to know flow. Up to 30% not issue after that need total rejetting. Have done couple shows where put 60 or 70 in tank for sound and smell effect for crowd. Costly makes for crowd pleaser.

Pumps.
What keeps me busy?
1 Spinning the pump dry
2: Never doing any oil maintenance at the end of the weekend.
3: not filtering the fuel going into the tank

Nothing personal but hope to only make you money using flow bench. Try to lube after race or next week when running valves and blowing lines out. While on subject what do you recommend Dave to lube it with? Hum wonder howTngsten Disulfite would do for coating pump?

Any input on if dual gear DSR pumps normally have slight drop from as new flow? Not saying mine has dropped since I bought since not flowed but will be this winter or sooner,

Turn around times and cost to just flow? Would like flow checked so as to know what it is in case of **** happens and have to replace. Also have you done any of the restrictor for big pumps. I know A/fuel nostalgia guys went to 20 gpm pumps restricted to 11 and now 10. Fvrom what few toild me it was to have max flow at hit of throttle. Iknow they blank off return side for most part and put pump in motor.

Yea getting off track ,but hell that is required on DRR.LOL

As for filtering. I filter into jugds, jug to tank and was tanks to pump but that was causing restriction so removed. Anyone need canister style filter 12AN in and out?

Your pump is fine. Without doing math gymnastics you will be burning around 2-2.5 gpm depending. So, plenty of juice. Every pump will have a drop due to the gears bedding in. How soon? How much? Depends.

It's going to take a while to notice anything on a bracket or quick 8 engine. Here is a worst case scenario. Grabbing numbers out of the air. A 120 main is your normal jet most of the time. WIth NO other changes you find yourself going to a 100 or smaller main to get the same power at the same conditions you have a problem

The older style gear/rotor Enderle 80a-1 pumps only met that 7 gpm mark at the factory. No one else I know ever saw that much. So, advertising aside all you need is double or even triple gpm to keep things easy to manipulate with nozzles and jets.

That restrictor deal only works when 90% is involved and is used as a loophole in the nostalgia rules. No advantage on alky.
Restricting a too large pump is easy to do with another check valve and jet, sometimes called a pump loop.

Marvel mystery is fine as a lube. It's fine to rub in the tungsten disulfide if you want. Can't hurt, might help.

Should haved specified, Restriction deal is for nostalgia A/fuel. KLnow for sanction race will have to be tagged and thinl only one allowed Crower? Have everything except glide clutch for whole bolt in combo swap.

I have two 1100 aqnd one 1200 endserle's. May just sell them after get checked so know not junk ; Will call on cost. Dang sure niot going to FIE since last time all 8 pumps bad and 3 had zero marks in them.Did not like when told him just ship them back.
