| Mines a slow heavy door car but my Coan 8in flashes to 6000 shift at 7100 falls back to 6300 behind my 565. Need to send it in and have it redone, it was built for my old 540. Todd P

I agree that higher (looser) always seems to be quicker and more consistent. That is, as long as you can handle the finish line RPM.

| Not sure on my flash. Shift at 7400. Falls back to 6400. Cross the finish at 7400. I'm running 4.86 gears. Tried 4.57 gears one weekend and stall rpm sucked so it's a matter of matching everything to work together. Any combination may not be perfect but it could be something like the wrong type of converter or even the wrong gears in the diff. Alone they may be what the car wants but together, they may cause performance conflict. You could also have two converters with identical stalls but one is loose and the other is tight. They'll perform differently even though they stall at the same speed. |
