Anyone rebuilt a stock steering gear box?
Looking at trying to do my 1st one.

I have, but it was years ago....they are a pain in the you know what......especially the recirculating balls....

Why sure back in the 70's. Common back then was the sector shaft along with the lower bushing/bearings and seal. Other than that it was filed under the S** Can Dept. Sure brings back the Wrench throwing moments with the ball bearings.
Was removing the balls and low and behold dropped one of the balls and "Bingo" rolled off the bench and rolled right into the sewer next to the workbench. lol

Not sure if this helps, but if it’s a power box both seals can be repaired without it being disassembled.

I've had a few done here over the years with good results.
Maybe they can hook you up with the parts, can't be that hard to do it yourself ??
