My first choice is the Biondo Outlaw. Thin, simple to operate and dependable.

My LAST choice and first one to throw in garbage is the PPP shifter. Had two different ones and they would lock up and not shift or go from first to neutral. Only happened a few times but that is a lost round and could hurt the motor.

Will say my homemade tube shgifter will not go 1st to neutural, well unless you rotagte it and then up. Only gear not require twisting to next notch is 1 - 2 shift.

Do not hate mine looking at options for better choice. If not looking for bettr than you are settling for less than best.IMO

No idea what a tube shifter is.

Motion Raceworks is the nicest and one handed shifter out there. Went from "junk feeling" quarter shifter (know lots of them out there) to the motion raceworks and its precision in your hand compared. One handed operation if you missed that.

Just get out your wallet and cry when ordering. Worth it though.

I'll stick with my old 2-speed Quarter Stick!

I drove someone's race car about 3 years ago. It had a Motion Raceworks shifter, it was too slick; it would slide by the position you wanted. The owner said they had the same issue on occasion. I like Motion Raceworks stuff, but not that shifter.

Quarter stick maybe my fall; back to.

Tube shifter figured self explainatory, A tube A with another inisde with pin sliding in track that steps over from 1-2 to n then over to next one for reverse and park, Also have second pin for akir shiufter.Guess could have another track for park if like but with effort to get to park you are not going by accident. Neil amd Parks sell them. 1.25 wide and maybe 12" long. lite as hell. I built my own using his design with some self engineering to work out function. Works good except going to reverse require either more use than I habve with it or some site of it, In Fed with it between legs over rearend housing seeing it is issue, I feel like I take forever to get from 2nd to reverse and makiong sure in neutral when cleaning out motor.

Yes I did copy some of his design, had to figure out good amount on my own. I do not make for others and will not. I know still scum of earth for using someone elses idea have heard it form others whos veiw on it ment nothing. So save finger joints on reply.

If want to see tube shifter neil and parks site has one on it.

I used a Biondo Elite electric shifter in my 62 deuce and loved it! Only problem I ever had was the solenoid failed to work several times after about 3-4 weeks of purchase.
I special ordered the shifter from my local speed shop, so they ordered it from Biondo.
I call Biondo and explain it issue and was told they couldn't warrantee the solenoid because I didn't buy the shifter from them directly. He did offer to give me a 25% discount though, lol
That would be the last time I ever buy any products from Biondo.

Don't really care, I don't have to keep up with the Joneses. To each their own on what they want to use or not use for a shifter.

I've won plenty of races with my ""junk feeling" quarter shifter" according to you; as I'm sure I will continue to win with a Quater Stick. Wink

Honestly didnt mean to offend. My quarter worked find also. Other than the way I had it setup in my car the cable started to get loose in the shifter. I fixed it but in the process did not like the "looks" of it compared to everything else in the car. I like things nice and also effective. I opted to get the motion and it works and looks a million times better. Did it make me sick spending 900 on a shifter - yep. Am I pleased with it. Yes. Very - especially that I can do everything one handed as where it is mounted its a "reach" - the other were a PITA that required two hands. Believe that was one of the things the OP was asking about.

You know that there is another option than what has been mentioned and helps keep the board you enjoy up and running.

I looked at my post & it did come off a little harsh, not intended!

These new shifters sure do look slick, but I see no reason to change what I've been using.

My boys like the newfangled got to have parts. They hounded me to replace my outdated Weld Draglite wheels, I was fine with them! Finally, after many years I gave in & bought Keiser wheels to shut them up.

Agree good looking shifter. zfremember I am the broke dyck no buck guy according former and not missed member. Not that price is bad for quality piece. Just not in my prioce range until some things taken care of and can do more jobs for some cash flow.

Trying to relocate what I have at moment. Just as most know not lot of room in ****pit and Fed is worst than RED on that matter.

Thought a Netural indicator light that let me know in netural. Would be easy to know if in right side slot for reverse or left side for 1-2. Thagt way site not really for required working it.
