Banjo beat me to it. Mileage vs fuel cost does work out. No front tire issue on my 3500 2 wheel drive GM. I do drive it to work every day. 26 Miles one way, freeway average stop and go is 16-18 depending on speeds. You need to keep up on GM filters, been revised many times. It might be time for the first brake change though..Best truck I have ever owned. With that said... Probably give fits from here on...
Surprised Jerry Mock has not been on this topic. He has a ton of GM tow history.

The 2015 Power stroke is 440 hp @ 2800 RPM and 860 lb-ft @ 1600 RPM
2015 Duramax 397 hp @ 3,000 rpm and 765 lb-ft @ 1,600 rpm

So the gas engine is still like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Thanks for the info on testing the filter.

I will do it on next filter change.

Who is fighting? I wasn't comparing to diesel.

I think we can all agree that if you're buying a tow vehicle for anything other than a lawnmower trailer, the last thing you should be concerned with is mileage.

I disagree. Pulling power and fuel mileage are the two top reasons to purchase a diesel truck.

If I was going to buy a new one it would be the Ford-Everybody says the only reason for buying a diesel is for the power, Ford has it.

Picked up my new White 2015 3500 DENALI HD CREWCAB DURAMAX SRW, 11,500 GVWR on Saturday like the one in this video

Opted out of the factory installed Bedliner for the factory installed Bed Rug as my previous truck had. It combined with the ARE Tonneau cover that I've ordered and my previous truck had, makes for a carpeted 6 foot trunk. Got almost 500 miles on it now and so far the MPG is 16.7. Drives very nice and loaded with creature comforts. Truely a luxury ride.

$64,750 MSRP and will go $67,880 with off road suspension, power sunroof, rear seat entertanment pkg, snow plow pkg and dual alternators. Higher yet with the many appearance and convience optons available. That said, lets keep the replies about these GMC/Chevy trucks.

Nice looking ride! Just curious though, why not a dually?

OK, they are nice trucks, but I wouldn't have bought a GM product. I have a couple of friends that are techs at a Chevy dealer.............

and I feel the same about the other brands. Matter of fact, I've never owned any other brand car or truck by choice. Nothing stopping you from starting a thread about which ever truck you own or would buy but this thread is about what I bought.

Yep cured here as well. My C2500 LT Suburban was not reliable and never very efficient.
That said, my Ford F-350 TD truck is strictly limited to towing my race trailer. I never use it for other transportation.

Ed is that your Company truck or personal truck?
