My guess would be yes. Expect it to get worse. Denver Mile high race is down to 3 grade points, as of yesterday there were zero Super Stock cars entered and zero Top Sportsman. Only 28 in Super Comp. I need Ed’s money to go, help me out here Ed old buddy, old pal! Probably cost me 800 bucks in diesel plus 350 entry fee and all the incidental stuff. Lots of people not willing to spend that. Still trying to make up my mind, long way to go to pit in the dirt and get two time runs. Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am.......

Oh it can’t be fuel prices, (sarcasm) A few months ago many posters said “fuel prices won’t change racing…”. “X footbrake race this weekend and the pits are full!”

Any other reports from Galot? Radio silence, near as I can tell. Take care. Tom Worthington If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

I have to agree with that I think it is going to get much worse very quickly. Car count will go down and then pay out is going to have to go down as well which will hurt even more. It is a Catch 22 and not good. For the last 10 years I have made money racing. Not enough to pay for car but more than enough to cover fuel, entry, food, gas, oil etc. The daily expenses. But that is getting tougher every day. Now I do not have to have the money but if it gets too upside down then I will certainly reconsider where I go and how much I race. If it costs you $200-$300 to race for a chance at $1500 that is one thing. But what about when it gets where it costs you $800 to race for a chance at $600? What you going to do then? The tracks have to make money to keep gates open, car count goes down pay out is going to have to go down to. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. Racing has never made money sense. Some racing is worse than others and some people have more money that they hate and want to get rid of. National events and big money races have always been on one end of the spectrum. Long time commitment. Often large amounts of gas to burn to get there. Bigger gamble for any possible payback. These will be the first ones off the table for many. Quality local racing may actually do well during these times. Until things really get bad, which they are going to. When people are paying $1 per egg and $7 for a gallon of gasoline, there will be a significant correction, and many will feel pain. Foxtrot Juliet Bravo

You are right about that racing is not a good financial move but it is fun. When it starts to hurt the pocket book more than the fun we get out of it things will quickly change. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. The manipulated price of fuel is a mechanism. It is a mechanism to bring about societal behavioral change. The initial change is to severely reduce the amount of driving people do. Gauging from the car counts it is working nicely. The window dressing, or distraction of look-over-there, is crisis after crisis, Russia-Russia, war, supply chain, covid, monkey pox, etc. etc. Just know that YOU ARE being manipulated! YOUR government is not looking out for the citizenry's best interest. Illegitimi non carborundum

I think the event at Galot was rescheduled which is probably why no Motor Mania TV. They probably had committed to the other races for the dates. Some must be younger or have short memories. I remember gas shortages twice and prices doubling both times. I remember 55 mph federal speed limit. The world was ending and we were all going to be riding the bus back then or driving scooters. Somehow the sun kept coming up and we kept going on.

They say history repeats itself, I hope your right on this count. However like most people we tend to think in terms of our own experiences. You and I have known nothing but the land of milk and honey and that's what our memories reference. What you aren't referencing is the great depression, the civil war or WWII (lets not ignore the influence of the would be one world government). These histories repeat themselves too. Like I say I hope you're right and it's a short term repeat. But it would be foolish to ignore long term history, it too will repeat. JMO I could be wrong. Illegitimi non carborundum

The price of gas in California is about to go up again on the first of July, about another $1.15 cents according to the AAA Club Of California (God I hope they are wrong). If that is the case regular will go to around $7.49 a gallon. Meanwhile Glorious Leader Biden and Governor Gruesome do NOTHING. They are determined to bankrupt middle and lower income families. These idiots are forcing the demise of gas power everything. At this rate Drag Racing in California may be over forever. Bob
