Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

Had a wonderful afternoon at my sons house with all the family and a great meal.
Brought home a lot of left overs.
Marty even gave me a short JW Blue after dinner.
First one in 6 months.

I got back home last night. Long drive. I did notice the $1.00 spread in gas prices on this trip. $2.99 here. Had a flat on the road and what chore, hour wait for road service then their jack would not work. Wait for another road service, get it up wheel off then they had a time of it getting the spare off. Should have done it myself as I lost 2 1/2 hours. Anyway home safe now to unload. Hope everyone had a good holiday. We need more people to post on here even if about nothing to do with drag racing. Everyone be safe.

Glad you made it home safe!

I have been busy racing these past 2 weeks & should have made time to check in on this thread.

Picking up & bringing the unfinished Bonneville car out to my shop this weekend. Hopefully we can get it completed in 3 years. My good friend Speedo is not getting any younger at 86 & still wants to pilot this car. His nephew & I want to make his dream come true. I'm in a little over my head, but I hope we can make it happen one way or another.

There you go fernflyer, I posted! Big Grin

It's Friday! I really don't pay much attention to what day it's anymore. Anyway, we are preparing for the Bonneville car move tomorrow. Getting trailers hooked up & moved, plus some lunch at our local small Casino. Big Grin Tonight, is pizza/movie night a home with my lady.

Hope all is well, have a great day.

Howdy all. It's been busy since I got back from FL. I was bouncing around a little... no heat in the house, temp inside here was 44. I stayed at my parents for a couple of nights, and my girlfriend's for a few more. Turns out the thermostats (which are ancient) weren't sending a signal to the boiler. $162 for me to find that out, but I have heat again. It will cost a few bucks to upgrade the thermostats and flow control valves, but it needs done.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was great. I made the pies Wednesday, and we limited mom to a brief supervisory role on Thursday. Her stuffing is the best, so she was telling me how to make it. It came out pretty good. Between my sister, sister in law, and me, we did the turkey and all the fixings. Yummo!

B, how'd you do racing? What's the Bonneville car, and what's the powerplant? I sure hope Speedo gets to make that run!

Fern, you racing at Coastal Plains this weekend? I thought about it, but budget needs some relief.

Floyd, sorry to hear,in a way, that you sold the Silverado, but awesome it went to another racer.

You all have a good weekend.

Chuck,

Glad you got your heat fixed & had a good Thanksgiving!

My racing went excellent went deep into eliminations all races but one; 2nd round loss. I won on Thanksgiving for 2k & on Sun. got another check for making it down to 5 cars. The new combo is starting to get the bugs worked out.

On the Bonneville car, I have a Land Speed Racing thread in the tech section about halfway down on the 1st page. It has a couple pics & hope to add more. The motor is going to be under 305" limit sbc in a fuel class & will probably be a screaming 302. I think I'm going to do a thread on the motor in the tech section.

Speedo is excited about us taking on his unfinished project. I hope we can get it done in time for him to enjoy.

Good morning everyone. Coastal Plains is over 200mi from here Chuck and not the best track I have ever been to. I expect they will have a short field there. Darn shame the weather got them. I am taking the 2914 Smart car to Farmingtons flea market today to see if some racer would like to buy it. We have 3 so letting one go. Looks like a nice day. Most of my racing seems to be getting interrupted by other things for now. You all have a good day

fern, that's an understatement! I was there once 11 years ago and it was the WORSE track I've ever been to from the pits to the track surface. JY has been to bad tracks all over the country and he left Saturday night after rolling in Saturday morning because it was so bad.

I don't know what year it was I went to this race there but Anthony Fetch came about daylight, parked beside me, won the race, and was on the way back home. I on the other hand won the dash for cash, broke a header and didn't even get to race. I just looked and it don't look very crowded and was on a weather hold.

And I sold the Smart car today, in the rain!

I won the dash for cash at the Footbrake Frenzy the year I was there, car was stuck on a 5.60 IIRC.

Farmington was good to me as I sold the 2014 Smart car. Guy got a good deal on a real good little car. I took it to him today....Hope everyone is doing well. Good to see all my friends in the short lines at Coastal Plains and to Dave Harvey on the true start win. If not for true start Kevin Pollard would have been the winner. They were both on kill.

I get it, but Speedo is living on borrowed time at 86. The completion of his dream car & him making passes at Bonneville again is our main focus.

Howdy all, hope everyone is doing well. Not too much happening here, just trying to keep time from passing too quickly, as it seems to do during the holidays. My oldest niece is coming in this weekend, looking forward to seeing her. She hasn't been back this way in a couple of years, since starting her residency. I saw her when I was in CA in March, but my parents haven't seen her for over 2 years.

B, congrats on the W and getting down to 5, and getting the bugs worked out. I'll have to check out the threads in Tech on Speedo's car. Sounds like some neat engineering.

Fern, I only got to watch a little on Saturday while I ate lunch, never got to check back in. I saw Dave Harvey won Sunday, when Michael announced that he and Anthony have agreed to part ways. I hope they both have continued success. Congrats on selling the Smart car. I didn't look at the detailed results, but I am a fan of TrueStart/Worst Red.

Anyone have a line on getting a new 4 post lift? My buddy has been waiting for over a year. I want to use his garage to pull the trans, go through it, and send the converter out. He wants to wait until he has the lift. I'm fine with doing it like I've done it all my lift, with a jack and stands, sliding in and out from under the car.

Thanks CT! Most of the bugs are tuning the EFI, but the 5.90 tune we have now is working pretty well. Wink It still needs some refining. I'm having a hard time finding someone to put it on a chassis dyno & tune it for a quicker tune. If all else fails, I'll just do it myself at the track.

I started a thread on the motor for the B-Car in the tech section. As for "some neat engineering", it's definitely different. The car is built way too heavy. It's what we have to work with & we'll try to make it work!

I would like to put a lift in my shop, but with working on the B-Car & having my car in there; it probably wouldn't work right now, space wise.

Hope everyone is gearing up for the Holidays. I'm a slight bah humbug kind of guy, but enjoy being around the family during this time.
