Curly, I used the wrong wording with the "bunch of crybabies"! The crybabies while a good amount, they were the minority & always seem to bring bad light to a good event. The classes all had a good showing & they took the top 16 qualifiers for each class.

On a separate note: I don't believe in driver's meetings & especially every day before running/racing. The rules & race procedures were well advertised. Plus given in each racer's registration package. This is where most of the above took place.

Looks like my hopes for running the NHRA D2 event at Rockingham next weekend are done. 4 races scheduled that weekend, which could have gotten me 4 grade points for going into next season. Kinda bummed about that, but hell, at least I got back out racing again this year. That's a big win for me. Spoke with my engine guy. Engine is apparently ready to be assembled. Waiting on head gaskets. Cometic says they're about 2-3 weeks out. None on the shelf. Maybe I'll try to find someone who'll let me rent a ride? There is an option to run a larger bore set of 454 gaskets, but I'd rather have it right, so I don't have to open it back up when the correct ones come in. Not to mention the cost of buying one set that'll work and one set that's correct for my engine. I had 4 events left before hurting engine, now it looks like I have one left I'll get to. Thanksgiving race with CCRA at Coastal Plains. Up until 15 or so years ago, the Thanksgiving race was their biggest event of the year. They'd have the pro mods and such out for many years. Once they got too fast for the shutdown area, that ended. CCRA picked up the slack when that happened and has done a great job of keeping the Thanksgiving tradition going.

Morning all ,
well this season is certainly ending different .
Was meant to run the NDRC Championship grand final last weekend . Packed ute on Sunday . Got Plymouth onto trailer and strapped down Monday ready for Wednesday leave . Get a txt from a fellow racer - hold on there is talks under way , track , grp1 , promoter .
The weather forecast was looking pretty average with plenty of the wet stuff coming .
Ok , wait and hour or so , nothing . Ok finish strapping the Plymouth down . Get a callfrom another racer , get the email ? Nope Im packing . Race is postponed 1 month .Dammit .
But also another good call from my perspective . The damit side is now I hd to unpack everything . Plus I am going OS on Friday and will be back 4 days before I have to leave for the race .
Certainly easier as no zoom to race and back before holiday bit less time pressure .
As usual there was a bit of bleating . Yes it was hard on some , both for time off and accomodation bookings etc . BUT if not postponed better than sitting in the rain not racing .
Still trying to get time to bed in Hoosier , T&T day before event is only available time .

This should be my last event of the year .

Tex

How many cars qualified in HR 1?
How many entered?

Sorry Dan I missed this post & your questions.

It was a 16-car qualified field. I don't how many were entered in HR 1, but it was one of the larger classes.
