Maybe someone here knows, since I can't seem to view the rules in the member section at NHRA.com When does my SA2015 helmet become expired?? I was thinking 2027?? "Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular." Dave Cook N375

I don't know why the NHRA Member site directed me to a page to view the 2025 rule book that failed to open. ??? Is it my Windows 7? "Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular." Dave Cook N375

Just as an FYI, helmet certs are good for 12 years. Got into it last year with tech here on my daughter's helmet. She was at the track for the first time, going through tech, and the guy looked at her helmet as said it was expired. I said it was a brand new helmet last year, it's not expired. He said it expired in 2015. So I grabbed the helmet, looked at the tag, and he was going off the date of manufacture tag, not the cert tag, in which the helmet was made in 2015 (Simpson Bandit), but the cert sticker was SA2020. I told him that and he goes "well, it's expired anyway, she can run it for today". I told him the cert is good for 12 years and he shot back at me it's only good for five! So we finished tech, I went back to the pits, pulled up the rule book and took it back over to the head tech guy, who is also a major idiot, and told him they were wrong. He said "They must have made an admin change at division". I told him Division can't change the rules, and that rule has been 12 years for as long as I've been racing. He said he'd have to look into it. Fast forward to earlier this year, I sat down with the track owner and explained everything. It would appear that the issue has been resolved but we'll see. Her tech dept didn't know the rules for crap, and I called them out several times last year. I wasn't on their favorite person's list that's for sure, we'll see if they do better this time. I basically have the rulebook memorized, but carry it with me to the track as well. Isn't that why we have a rule book. DUH! When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

We don't get a rule book anymore. Have to log in and download and print it or view it online. "Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular." Dave Cook N375

...and even if it IS in the rulebook, the track always has the ability to use whatever their own rule is, in it's place. Take care. Tom Worthington If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

This is one of many things I dislike about NHRA and refuse to buy memberships with them.
