I'm not spending as much time on Facebook as I used to,but there were a couple of posts about electric vehicles and bracket racing that just exploded over the weekend.
There sure are a lot of opinions on this.My only experience with one was at a Test and Tune at Byron.Couldn't believe how fast it went, but didn't cut a light that would ever win a round.

That Ross Gould character is going to have an aneurysm over it if they aren't let in.

Write this down, and remember where you head it first -

NHRA will allow EV's in bracket racing as a virtue-signal to the woke mob that they care about the planet.

I’ve read the Granatelli books! Very cool! Novi!

Think I said several topics back. You put a great driver in a Tesla with someone who knows the software and they will not be beat very often.

I've been watching that going bracket racing youtube channel quite a bit. They were= talking about electric vehicles last week. Their thought was an electrical engineer or computer programmer could possible tell the car when at 100% throttle it must accelerate at X feet per second.

If you always were running an ET that the car is capable of running at low battery, then you would run the same ET every time you staged up.

They also said something about the possibility of the self driving feature being manipulated to read the tree, but that idea seemed out there to me.

They did say its all theoretical, but made some good points.

How do you police their electronics is part of it. Some have concerns about not being able to put one out if it's on fire, which I believe to be legit. Also someone mentioned the fact that they could cause a shock hazard if wrecked, which I have no idea about but is something someone brought up.

Does anyone know what the EV drag cars cost, or if they're even available to the general public?

I mean this in the nicest way possible, I really do, but do people really think everyone racing with an internal combustion engine is legal?

You'll learn more about drag racing those cars there, sorta.

Beside having few mechanical moving parts and not being affected by the change in weather conditions other than wind, if I’m racing against an EV that has the ability to use/ program traction control, and rate of power to acceleration (slew) I’m at a disadvantage. Who has the ability (electronics expertise) to police this?

They belong in their own battery only class. I’m sure in a few more years after the Branden administration finishes BBB their class will be bigger than SP + Pro.

LR ban them for 2022….. Good Work, I agree and hope other big money bracket events do same.

It's a giant wheel counter with GPS to boot.

The guy on the youtube deal got yelled at for exceeding 150 mph, then there was a software update, and clearance from the track management to run it all out, now it won't hit 150 anymore.

I think someone in Glendora collaborated on the Tesla update.
