I’m going to be selling a brand new 240” 4-link TD dragster soon. It will cert to 6.0....It has a Mittler Bros fab 9” rear end with Moser aluminium 4.11 3rd member and Strange 40 spline axles. Also Strange brakes with dual calipers and 2 Wilwood master cylinder pedal assembly. Afco coilovers . It will be a rolling chassis with a wing and motor plates and a FTI shorty glide and bell .. my question is what price range would a car like this sell for? I've got a little over $27,000 in it but I know you never get what you've put into them....I love the car and if we had any tracks out here anymore I would keep it..But we don't so I want to sell it off to someone that can race it..

I'm open to trades for a Mopar street car of equal value or money and a car....A body or Arrow

Hmmm. A dragster. That's a tough one. I'm thinking I could go as high as a riding lawn mower. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Depends on who built the chassis. You should have no problem getting your money back and then some if it’s a name brand chassis.

Lots of variables, who built it, chassis cert, carbon or aluminum body, what make wheels, is it wired, ignition, dash and gauges, is the chassis powder coated or painted etc.
Prices for dragsters tend to be all over the map, as with most race cars its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it

A guy that had worked at Danny Nelsons shop for some time had opened his own chassis shop built the car most of the way but after almost a year I had to go back there and take the car unfinished and have a chassis shop out here finish it.... ...The shop out here put the frontend and wing on. as well as the motor plate tabs and a few other brackets...don't know why the guy back east couldn't finish it up....he said "Sorry, I'm just too busy"

The chassis is powder coated black...I didn't plan to put new wheels/tires on because everybody has their own preference on those...it is not wired nor an ignition ....it's an aluminium body...no dash in it in case somebody is wanting a digital dash.... The car was built for TD 6.0 cert....if it matters I'll get it cert'd....

I just want it out of my life before I get stupid again and finish it to go race lol

I wish you luck. I have been trying to sell my 235" Neils & Parks HT 632/Glide.(Complete) just need to be refreshed. Been in the shop and racing stopped due to the heart attack and lung issue.
Was able to sell the 598 backup short block 2.5 weeks ago. 6.0 cert still good.

What are you asking for a complete/running dragster? Just to give me an idea what to price my chassis for a quick sale.

I don't really want to put all that stuff on a chassis I'm just wanting to sell....Everybody has rims, ignition, tires, gauges, fuel pump, etc etc that they like....I just want to sell this chassis with the rear-end, suspension, brakes, body and wing...I figure I'd sell this cheap enough that the new owner can personalize it the way he wants it....

I was asking $22K for it. It's a TK deal 632 with the 385 head/SV1. Just needs to be freshened up. It has been sitting. The way the economy is right now, i just don't expect anything.

Depending on cage size, I would expect you to get around 15k if it's not a well known brand car. If it's less than a 23 inch cage, I would expect closer to 10k. If it isn't one of the well known builders, it seems like the car loses more than half the value of a comparable car.

Dave, thats going to be a tough sale, going to have to find someone wanting a no name builder new car project.
Like I said earlier, its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it

Fuc that, I might as well finish it up and put an engine in it and race it while having it for sale....I can put one of my old comp eliminator 18* small blocks in and run 7teens or so. Maybe put a plate under the carb and run in the sixes to get peoples attention...Sell it for 20k or 15k without engine....Brand new 240" TD 4-link car should sell for that I would think.... I just don't want to have to travel to Vegas or Tucson to race/sell it..

Exactly what you should do!

A couple weeks ago I was racing at Famoso in CA. There was plenty of dragsters racing there. They have a decent schedule for racing. The best way to sell a race vehicle is something proven & seen on the track. Ask me how I know? I've done it!
