The San Diego City Council passed a new Ordinance last week prohibiting Landlords from evicting tenants who can not pay their rents IF it is determined that the default was not due to their negligence. In short what that means is that if the tenant was fired (and it is contested), quit their job or was the subject of a termination they can stay in the dwelling as long as they wish without paying. The object was to reduce the growing number of homeless people in the City.

Those folks who are presently homeless are being given free "Pay Vouchers" that must be honored in the surrounding eastern Cities, like El Cajon Ca. The homeless situation is negatively impacting the San Diego City Tourist Industry so they ship them out of town and the Tax Payer's foot the bill.

California is rapidly becoming a waste land of vagrants, drug dealers and people in the Sex Trade, anything to find that next fix and they are dying by the dozens. This is a place, like Mexico to mark OFF your next vacation plans. The migration leaving California is in full swing, the Liberals won, they inherit the wind.

Why would anyone rent out a house if they can not evict them if they do not pay? That is most important part of the contractual agreement. You pay for the shelter provided.

California is wanting to pay 5 million in Reparations to all blacks and also they can buy any house for 1 dollar. And they want to charge $600,000 per white person to pay for it. Now we all know that it would be hard to pass that and enforce it but it does show how crazy they are.

I think less than 1% of the population is gay and yet they are controlling what rest of the people can say or do? Most of us do not care what they do in privacy of their bedrooms but they have made it clear they are coming after your children. And some parents are helping them because they are woke and tolerant......

Effective Immediately home owners in San Diego are now responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the sidewalks that border their homes. City Workers will be the only folks that can repair broken/cracked sidewalks, they fix the sidewalk you pay the City.

Calculating the length of the average sidewalk in San Diego, (excepting corner lots), the average repair is estimated at more than $2,000 per home. Currently there are more than 37,000 homes listed that are now on the hook for these repairs. Lack of funds is not an excuse, the City will be happy to place a lean the property and hold it until the property is sold. Of course the lean will be recorded against the name of the property owner, which will present a problem should they seek a loan, for a car or whatever.

At the same News conference they were considerate to also mention that City Taxes would be substantially increased, nothing like a double whammy to make your day!

Is this unusual?

My neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks, but I know that folks who do are responsible for keeping the sidewalk across their property cleared of snow and salted during winter, for instance.

Any day now, my street will be milled and repaved. Every home in the neighborhood will be billed about $6k. We didn't have any input into this decision.

Not a lot of snow to remove from sidewalks in San Diego but this is projected to cost homeowners in town more than $74,000,000. This is repairing and/or repaving concrete and yes it is unusual, never been done before.

Like you we don't have sidewalks where I live (out in the country) so the County is planning on installing sidewalks and charging the home owners.

Evidently it's vitally important to have sidewalks for all the coyotes and stray cows. We have both.

While I love that these cpmany's are loosing billions. Two things I have heard and that is all it is hear say.
One they have folks giving them big portions of it back for pushing thier agenda.

Two and more believable. They are so diversified that you can not knock them down. When you change to something else good chance they own it or good part of it,

It appears Bud Light is doubling down on this and saying they will continue to support them.

They will continue to lose money.........
