I don’t think one solution is possible. In fact, if this happened at 10 different tracks, you would see at least 3 different track management actions on what to do. NHRA, IHRA OR local bumpkin race. 2005 2000lb 4 link dragster home brew 582 BBC Dart 355 1.058 2.98 4.629@149 6.094 7.310@185

Well if I wasn't before, I definitely ain't now. With all the talk of house cars, "mulligans", and now this BS, what about any of this would make me want to spend $1000+ to get screwed? While this drama might not effect the people who are already to committed to going, they sure as hell aren't going to pick up new racers like me. ------------------------------------ Not Hot Rod, not Super Rod, not Quick Rod, but the one and only NimRod

OK, this is another bye run question although not related to the one so far. I have raced over 60 years and never saw this. Flyer says $100 round money starting with 3rd round win. You lose round 7 and expect $400 round money (won 6 rounds) and they hand you $300. You had a bye in round 5 and that don't count is the explanation. What say you?

A by round is a winning round. They cheated you in my opinion. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

I'm guessing that this is their logic. You have to win 3rd round to get to the paying rounds. 4th round win = $100 5th round win = $200 (bye or not ) 6th round win = $300 7th round win = $400 Should have been into position (1/4's, 1/8's etc.) payouts by 7th round....???? $100 round money. Win round 3 $100 win round 4 $100 more win round 5 Bye run Supposed to be $100 but no win round 6 $100. But no pay for the bye run win???thats the way it was. Not correct amounts but the way it was, no pay for the bye run. Never saw that before.

Ferndale. Did you take the tree on the bye? Maybe win didn't show up on score sheet?

Fern, that's insane. That track or promoter wouldn't see me again. Tony Leonard

Were you on a buyback? When the flyer says "round money starting with 3rd round win" it's to sort out the buyback racers. This is why a re-entry round is popular, because everyone that gets to 3rd round has won 2 rounds. BUT, with all that said, your pay could have been correct, but their explanation of it SUCKED, and is totally WRONG. We'll agree on that. "Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular." That is a good point. At my local track we lose a round if we buy back.

I better clarify here---it was not me but my friend and the numbers I used aren't actual either but the deal is dead on. No he did not have to buy back and he staged and made a full pass on the bye run. Money didn't matter but somehow it just didn't seem right to not get paid for ALL the rounds he won.

He got shafted then. I would mark that track off my list after that. And if I did run there and got a buy I would give it to someone else.

Sounds like THE ROCK.. | |||

It was not the Rock and since they have a new owner and manager I wouldn't expect such shenanigans. I'll not out the track as it has new owners and is on a learning curve I expect. I will contact them personally. I just wanted some opinions of others. Thanks to everyone.

Sometimes, in the heat of a moment, people don't take the time to think through what they are saying, feeling like they just have to come up with something. I felt like this might be the case, but now I'm not sure. If you're holding a time slip that has an elimination round number, and "winner" on it, with your competition number, you get paid. PERIOD! They may contend that you get round money starting AFTER you have won 3 rounds, so a 4th round win would be your first pay. Apparently it needs to be clarified. I guess you could refuse the bye if you know it doesn't pay? I have turned down several of the 1st round bye position opportunities. Save eligibility for later.
