Well, sometimes you gotta look at things and decide if you need to change things up a bit. I'm doing exactly that. I got my current car from Dennis Kline back in 2014 I think. It's been and still is a great car. But, there are a couple of issues that just can't be fixed with it. First is that it's fairly heavy compared to newer cars. With my setup, I'm anywhere from 100-200lbs heavier than similar cars out there. As most are aware, weight affects performance, and it's easy to add weight to a car, a lot harder to lose weight from one. Second, is a safety issue, and that's getting into and out of the car. I can still get into the car fairly easy, but due to my shoulder injuries last year, typical aging stuff, and a few other things, getting out of my car is a challenge. Plus, my head with the helment on is very close to the top of the roll cage, which is not good if you think about it. So I figured that it was time to make a change if I wanted to keep racing, and that's exactly what I did. I've been looking at newer cars for a while now, and finally found one in Illinois that I liked. I messaged the guy and we have spoke at length about it, sent tons of pics and other info including videos about it, and came to a pretty good deal on it. I made the trip to check it out this last weekend, and finalized the deal today. The car should end up weighing about 300-350lbs less than current car when race ready (yep, you read that right), and is much more comfortable, easier to get in and out of, and just more up to date than the old car. After our season ends here, I'll be headed down to pick it up the first week of October. I'll spend the winter getting it ready for the new season, and hope to debut it at the start of next season.

As to the old car, I have a lot of history and fond memories with it, but there is also some history with it I'd prefer not to remember. I have a potentially interested party up here for it, and a racer friend here that has an engine we could sell with it as a package deal. So we'll see what happens. If it doesn't sell, I'll just keep it around for a while.

On that point, if someone on here is interested, or knows of someone that might be, have them message me. I'm willing to bring it with me when I go to pick up the new one provided it's along my route, as I won't deviate from that route due to time restrictions I'll have for the journey. If this is the case, pm me for details...

Some info on the new car:
-275" wheelbase
-double slip joint
-both hand and foot brakes, both separate of each other
-3.90 rear gear
-trans is included, 1.69 ratio low
-trans case and chassis cert are in date and good to 2027
-includes radiator, some wiring, brand new chutes, trans, complete third member with Strange ultra case, rear motor plate, new seat belts and tabs for six point harness are being installed no charge, has midplate that only has upper mounting, but lower mounting tabs will be installed for full plate, Meziere remote mount water pump, belly pan for engine and also one for trans, dash as you see it (I'll make a new one anyway), brand new XSPower D1600 battery, dual battery cutoff switches (electric, not cable), fuel tank, and dragster dolly.

I'm pretty happy about the deal, can't wait to get it here and get started on it! Oh, it also only has two 1/8th mile passes on it, chutes have never been pulled, and that's the only time it's seen the track...

Here's some pics of the new one to enjoy:
