Depends on if they are shifting on rpm or shifting on time.

Do you figure they are shifting off time? I have only see that in bracket racing, but I'm certainly no expert at what pro mods are doing. But if they are shifting off time, and they lift, and it shifts.......what is the problem?
And again, why would we worry about it? If it causes a control problem for them, I'm sure they would choose to stop using it right?
Of course, IHRA mandated wings on fast jr dragsters for safety reasons. So logic isn't exactly contagious at the sanctioning bodies.

I don’t have a clue how they are shifting just saying it might be on time. I don’t know what would happen if it was on time and you lifted and then it shifted at a moment after the lift, I am sure that could cause more problems but just talking theoretically. Not bashing just discussing.

I thought eliminating the auto shifters was going to solve the crashes? Did not look like it helped Saturday night.

Shifting or not if you drive one as far over in the marbles and as long as Brandon did you are asking to crash, auto shift or not.

Yup he was hugging the wall for a long time before it hooked and sent him across the track. Peez even admitted in the interview that he screwed up and should of lifted. He was not qualified and was just going for it is my thought

Yep he manned up and took the blame. I get it but man he tore up a lot of nice equipment. I hate it for him and both teams.

Thinking about it my question will be, how much weight will the Procharged cars get before their next race?

Procharger wins the race and sets the record. Me thinks they should of sandbagged a little longer...

I gotta disagree. I had it happen in my T/D and was initially very cautious of it in my T/S type car to the point that I no longer have anything shifting it.

BG ~2016 I put my blown dragster 90 degrees at ~300’. It tagged the bar at the hit, moved hard left, and I was trying to drag it off the wall (Bg has a lot of gravel over there so wasn’t happening but I was stubborn). I finally cracked the throttle because it was about to pop the center cap off the left front wheel. As soon as I got back in it, it hit the shift point and snapped hard sideways across the centerline. If I’d been shifting by hand it probably would have just rode the limiter and wouldn’t have rotated.

Was I being dumb for trying to save it? Yep. Would I have crossed the centerline if the shifter hadn’t hit when it did. Nope. Simple as that.
