Does your home track allow trans brake and 2 step in footbrake? Or is No Box and footbrake run separately? How many of each show up on a points day?

Mine is foot brake only. No 2step even off the brake pedal and no trans brake.

Majority of tracks near me are IHRA and run the no-box class and the only footbrake class is IHRA sportsman. Of course if you footbrake you can run no box and much of the time the footbrakers make it to the winners circle.
Past week there were about 20 in NB for the points race.
Only track near me that runs pure footbrake is Bristol and they are NHRA, what's interesting is most of the NHRA bracket programs do no-box. Bristol generally gets a large crowd for their FB class and every race is a points race.

How is it called footbrake if a trans brake is allowed? That doesn't even make any sense.

Check out the IHRA modified rules. Up front it says no "electronics" then down below it says 2 step rev limiters are allowed. HUH???? It's very disappointing that "they" change the rules from decades of pure footbrake.

The tracks near me that are only sanctioned by the IHRA have decided to stay footbrake. Those that are actually owned by the IHRA have gone no-box. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Coastal Plains Dragway and Kinston Drag Strip are both no box/no transbrake, footbrake, IHRA sanctioned. I haven't spent time looking over car counts, but I'd say pretty consistently around 35 car range, and some of those double enter as well. More if some of the tracks far away aren't racing. KDS and CPD appear to have a handshake agreement not to run races on top of each other, as they're only about 45 minutes from each other.

Years ago we used a brake pressure switch that closes a circuit at 750 psi and that completes the two-step circuit. No transbrake in Stock but consistent two step launch off the left foot.

Yes that's a simple RPM controller but if the track declares it's pure footbrake that is not allowed.

If your track runs no-box and footbrake together as ONE class on a points day, do they recognize each group separetly at the seasons end awards banquet?

No, it's one class in the race and for points. No separation or special recognition.
