I don't consider it slow, it's lower than Vegas. We pretty much run quicker/faster anywhere we go besides Vegas. It's not that Vegas is a bad track, we are around 2,100'-2,200', usually hot & very little oxygen producing trees/plants.

I am out visiting my dad in Murietta this weekend and made a side trip down to Barona today. Now I can say I have been there.

Was it everything you thought it would be?

Gate was locked so couldn't see much. Defiantly out in middle of no where. Towing there could be a white knuckler with a long trailer. drove in from the northern route from I-15 thru Ramona and back thru the southern route thru Lakeside on the way out. North route has tight switchback's and south has switchbacks and a somewhat steep climb going in

I wouldn't call it a shyt hole & it could use some work. I've been on a lot worse! It has a nice vibe to it for small events.

The recommended route is the Southern way & I did that going on the last trip. On the way home I went the Northern route. I will say, I had to do my best driving on the Northern route. The Truck & trailer is 62' long, I made but not sure if I would do it again!

I've always done well at this style, less than nice tracks & Barona didn't disappoint last time there! I have the most fun at these places & I have won under some pretty bad conditions. Again, Barona isn't a shyt hole but could use some work.

Barona is defiantly small "hometown small" track but to me its a happy track. Easy going, decent hook, little short on pit space although there has not been multiple 100's of cars. The only issue I have had there is the kinda short shutdown. And the cliff at the other side of the sand trap..My dragster driving into the chute has dropped the front tires into the sand a couple times...no damage just the pucker factor lol Anyone should have fun there as long as you're not a track snob

Good job, much better review than mine! I need to put you in time out, but you're safe. Because all you got was a pucker factor & probably no win. I got a win while I was there & no pucker factor, but I did have to get on the binders pretty good. Razz

Hope all is good, I miss you at the track!

I always wanted to do the Palmdale Hangovers but never made it. I did go to the Tucson Hangovers a couple years ago & had a blast, even though I was sick.
