I am working on restoring or feels like rebuilding a 1969 Panel. Having to weld in few body panes and cab parts. I can not do at at once and it is driveway job. Have to seal up each piece as done. I have been usigf sealer primer as temp till strip to meatal. When do strip a body off is just not as possible as would like it to be. Being as out side or under shelter. I will be stripping top down and sealing as go with epoxy sealer then going to next section. So is plan, not best but best can do right now. If better plan advise. Have been told and most research suggest epoxy before filler for minor imperfection, The primers. Few questions. Good quality epoxy that is easy to lay down, will protect till get to paint stage, Yes more prep. Suggestions? Comments on order of sealer, bodywork and primers? Body filler suggestions. Would love to say my body work perfect flat and I do work butt off trying to get it there, it is not and will need some filler. Do not want to be doing again in 5 years so like to use good stuff so as not to handicap myself. Suggest away any all comments welcome even ones telling me hire pro, America home of free. Looks like it can be used. From what I have found leaves rougher surface and needs 2k primer. It does protect metal well ut then everyone I have had reply on other sites has said epoxy primer is best for adhesion and protecting metal, Like any question mixed reviews on brands and cost. I don't mind the cost if it is for better product. Don't like any of the cost of paints but it is what it is. I figure guy painting race cars for most part will use good stuff and may get some personal reviews of what they use. Have seen quite a few paint questions with reply's on site, Either those guy not on now days or just not replying. America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment. | |||
