Danny Gracia, former longtime NHRA National Tech Director, passed away on April 28. He was 80. Gracia joined NHRA in February 1990 as Technical Services Manager.

I remember him doing a Chassis cert on my 27 Roadster in the parking lot of the NHRA Glendora office back in the early 90s...

Danny stripped and painted a car for me in 2 days back in 199-something so we could make it to the Nationals in Indy for a formal announcement of a ProStock team with Wilt Chamberlain sponsored by McDonalds.....We made it in plenty of time but Wilt hooked up with a stewardess on the flight back there and ended up shacking up with her in Chicago...He never made it to Indy so McDonalds said screw it and gave the sponsorship to Jim Yates..... But Danny and us did our jobs to make it happen....
