Looking for opinions on what would cause the engine in my Pathfinder to have a rough idle. I have had it to two different Nissan dealers hoping they could resolve problem before warranty expires. One replaced the motor mounts and that seemed to overshadow the roughness of the bad idle, then it came back @ 1000 miles later. Both have tried to state it is a common idle on the V6. I have told them to check the Idle Control Valve and the Mass Airflow Sensor. Neither seemed concern with checking these two to see if they are the problem. Any ideas? This is my first and for now will be my last Nissan.

My wife had a 2023 Pathfinder that Nissan replaced completely free of charge with a brand new 2025 Pathfinder after two years and 20,000 miles because they could not correct a problem with the adaptive cruise control despite multiple attempts at the dealership.

She likes the vehicle and is completely satisfied with the replacement 2025 Pathfinder which we have now had for over a year and over 10,000 miles with no issues.

Neither the 2023 nor the 2025 ever had any idle quality issues. You should open a case with Nissan before your warranty expires. Demand that your dealership give you the 1-800 number to Nissan to open a case. Take it to the dealership and leave it - tell them you don't want it back unless/until the idle quality issue is corrected.

Sly, I have done that. Curious why when rep contacted me he somewhat mentioned replacing the vehicle. I told him not my intent, just wanted idle issue resolved. He mentioned sending someone from Nissan to examine the issue. Unit is to be left with a dealer this coming Friday for a week and hopefully in that time they can find a resolution or do as you mentioned they did in your instance. Fingers crossed.

I found Nissan very easy to work with - I did not expect to swap a 2023 for a 2025 at zero cost. Very satisfied. Nissan told my wife to locate a 2025 in the colors and options that she wanted at any local Nissan dealership, which she did, and then Nissan put a hold on that vehicle until all the paperwork could be completed and we could take possession. Easy transaction. Nissan also paid for my wife to have a rental in the interim.
