Morning all ,
how do you feel about requiring multiple race licence / tech inspections ? This is to be able to run different sanction bodies/ tracks . Or are yours accepted across sanction ?
Here in Aus we are stuck with 2 main sanction bodies plus 1 other lesser .
A lot of racers get totally bent out of shape over the sanction bodies let alone having dual lic/tech . I have had both since dual sanction came in .To me its about the cheapest part of my race budget and gives me the ability to run where or whenever I choose .
Now in saying that I must point out we have way less racers and race tracks here , we certainly cant really support 2 sanctions , and we must travel long distances to run other tracks , often these tracks are single sanction though that has changed for 2 of the Super main tracks . The thought of letting a race program sit in the garage seems odd to me over a 2-400$ licence/tech etc .
Oh yeah dont get your hopes up about prizemonies to offset this .
thoughts ?

Tex

Normally IHRA would accept NHRA but not the other way around. Is it worth the expense? Depends on how deep the pockets are.At one time i had both IHRA and NHRA. I have been fortunate to have the certs done at the shop. NHRA. I decided to not renew with them. NHRA. Just kept the IHRA. Health problems have put racing on full stop..

Not all tracks are associated with a sanctioning body here. If you're bracket racing you're not required to join or be licensed to race even if the track is sanctioned. Only reason to join is if you want to run points with a shot at bracket finals or world finals or you want the insurance. In most cases cars get certified for resale value more than safety reasons or track requirements.

What Eman said. I haven't been a member of any of them in years although I keep my NHRA chassis cert up to date. In years the only place I have had anything checked is at the WFC at Bristol. I'll keep that $$ for buybacks!!!!

I guess that was the plan when it all got started here but as long as your money is green tracks have no problem letting anyone race. Licensing and tech are just terms or checkboxes on a form.
