You are correct Mike, they are not allowed to vote while they are in prison, but can when released.

California State Proposition 17 passed in 2020 restored voting privileges to convicted felons once they are paroled. This does not apply to convicts presently in prison.

It's been a number of years ago now but I was talking to a female bartender that was a "convicted felon". As best I can recall we were talking about firearms (not voting). She seemed well informed on her situation and she told me she could "buy" her way back-in. It only took buckets of money to a lawyer to turn the valves of justice to put her back in good graces. She said FTSystem.

All facets of "justice" is malleable. aka OJ justice.

I stand corrected. It's up to the state to restore voting privileges.

Illegal aliens are not supposed to be able to get drivers licenses, Social Security or vote. But they do in many States. Trump is trying to cut Medicare, Welfare, food stamps and Social Security from illegal aliens. He is trying to take away Social Security from all those people over 125 years old and people who are dead or not American Citizens. How can he just stop paying someone who has been dead for 40 years? Good luck with that.

Many liberal States only require a Drivers license to vote in State and local elections. They are not supposed to be able to vote in Federal elections but they do. Obama encouraged them to vote.

I did some further research on the Voting Rights of current and past convicted felons in the State of California. This is what I found.

California State Democratic Assemblyman Isaac Bryan recently proposed a State Bill that would allow convicts, while still in Prison, the Right to Vote. There are no exemptions to the Bill. It requires a 2/3 majority in both State Houses. Two States, Maine and Vermont plus The District Of Columbia currently allow prisoners to Vote while incarcerated. If the Bill passes both State Houses it would then be placed on a ballot before the Citizens of California for a final confirmation Vote.

Mike was correct in that until the Bill passes both State Houses and the public Vote, presently convicts can only vote after they are released. The original Law was that they had to complete probation before being allowed to Vote, that was changed a few years ago. Now the new Bill proposed by Assemblyman Bryan would allow them to Vote while still in prison. The likelihood of that passing all three requirements is thought to be slim, but you never know it could happen.

You are right about that for sure. Wonder how well it would go over if they went to Iran, North Korea, Russia, China or most any other Country illegally and then Rioted in the streets demanding the Country comply? They would not be deported, probably shot dead in the streets. (Except for Europe, they would bend over for them)

As usual, the libs have subverted tax dollars to fund the destruction of our country. Credit where credit is due, the libs are good at what they do.

"The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, one of the activist organizers at the center of the Los Angeles protests, received millions in taxpayer dollars through government grants, including federal funding for immigration assistance services, a Washington Examiner review found."
