I just turned on the Chicago Cubs game and it was the first game that I have seen this year.
I think this new pitch clock is a great idea.Makes it much more interesting to watch.
This is what I think drag racing needs.
Once both drivers are prestaged,a clock starts.Even if it was set at a minute, there is no reason for both drivers to sit there for over a minute.
Throw them both out if they can't stage within a minute.

Wrong staging battles are part of the fabric of drag racing and fans love them.

Idiots would just stop pre-staging.

Shot clock starts when starter starts it not prestage.
Bracket racing don’t have many fans that pay to watch, most are just friends or family of racers.

He might be talking about this video.Nearly 1,000 cars at the U.S.Nationals.Imagine if every pair of cars was like this.It would take a month to finish a race.

That’s easy as long as the other car is prestaged.

imagine 300 burndowns at a big money race with 600 cars. I bet everyone would love a 2 round race called because of stupidity.

If you are in burndown it is by choice.

As for pitch clock sounds stupid, but there is TV times to think about. I am sure that is the biggest factor.

Starter says stage if they do not DISQUALIFY them and go to next pair that does want to race. Simple. Bet the smart racers would learn real quick to stage when told to.

One track I used to race at did not play games, when they called you to staging lanes then you get down there, once they called next class they shut back of staging lanes and you were out. The did not allow starting line games and they got the race done quickly and cleanly. The next pair of cars was doing burnout before first pair got off the track. As soon as it was clear the starter moved you in and you better go. They had a hard curfew and a lot of cars and they got the race in almost every time. As racers they had everyone getting ready for next round quickly and when you pulling into staging lanes you were ready when they called you.

At the end of the day it was good because they always had cars going down the track and got race done at reasonable hour. Everyone liked it except those few that think World revolves around them.

With all that said I do not like the idea of a new rule or run clock. I would not have a problem with starter booting a few for refusing to stage.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Some tracks have a rule against that and it could get you tossed plus double bulbing him does nothing to force him to prestage heck you double bulb me I will take my good old time

I was only joking. Someone double bulbs me I’m shutting my junk off and let them run out of fuel before I prestage.

Why? It just puts you completely in control. Just do your deal and race.

What does it matter, it's a bracket race!! The only thing I care about regarding the car in the other lane is that the dial on the board is right. I do my thing, don't care what the other car does. I do my burnout, backup, stage. If he goes in first, oh well....if he waits for me, oh well.....the only other thing I care about at that point is the first yellow light.......

It’s always good for a laugh when I read here about racers that melt down due to what their competitor is or isn’t doing. Laughing very hard

That said, if you don’t like or want a staging dual, light your bottom bulb or STFU!
