ordering a cheeseburger when you wanted a hamburger. Getting in the wrong checkout line Missing your exit on I-95 Locking your keys in the car
Reckless endangerment is driving your car at speed towards another car. Actual contact is even worse. If you are old enough to drive one of these type cars, you should be old enough to respect them and the damage they can cause. There is NO excuse for this. NONE. Daddy should have pulled his a ss from the car and left the race. But no, daddy is a facilitator.

Here is a simple question. Can anyone name something worse a racer can do on the racing surface than to intentionally drive their car into their opponents lane and make contact?
I will say that at the end of the day this was handled by the parties involved. Hunter, Trey, his dad, the car owner and the promoters all involved.
Sometimes in life though someone does something too far past a simple mistake/heat of the moment and people want to see them made an example of
Maybe I am wrong, and I hope I am. I just worry that some kid who looks up to hunter is going to think this is the “cool” thing to do or that it’s funny. Him getting off with a slap on the wrist would not help.
I think we can all agree that no one wants to see something like this happen again

I only know what I read in this post, but if the facts are as posted….I would be in jail….period!
Best post of the thread.
Society has forfeited its relationship with Truth. It now prescribes to fake and phony.
Trey whooped that azz, no surprise there.

It's not to late for a blanket party. Maybe he needs to feel some pain and leak a little. Here's the people he thanked for his 2020 Miller car. Maybe they should get some calls or callouts.
Someone post a link to the remarks gulliti is supposedly making on social media, defending Veruka Salt's reaction to getting ripped on after the stripe.
That'd be entertaining

Exactly no respect for others with no accountability it's the youth of todays society.

I hope Hunter the best of life since he is youngish but he's still a man. I have no respect for him or people that defend him. It was an ******* move. I understand that he apologized but thats easy after lying. I hope he gets suspended and eventually learns and moves on.
Disappointed with Luke and Jed and there take on it. Had it been Ferris Bueller trying to wreck an opponent after a loss, they and everyone would be going nuts!
I've ripped the throttle before after a win, it's not to degrade my opponent but just to celebrate the win. Gets thicker skin if you can't handle it. It's happened to me as well and I brush it off.
Again my 2 cents!
Jed was pretty clear that he would have tossed him for the weekend.
And while what Hunter did was dangerous and could have had an awful result, he was not trying to wreck his opponent.
And that makes it ok for him to keep racing?
I never said anything of that sort. I was specifically replying to statements made in the quoted post.
I was surprised by Luke’s mild take on the subject, but Jed was clear that he should have been DQ’d from the event, and now a precedent has been set at Folk races where this can happen with no penalty.

This kind of stuff has always gone on, just like track officials lying racers out of final rounds 45 minutes later. Anyone who has done any decent amount of drag racing, knows this.
The difference nowadays is, it's caught on video, otherwise you wouldn't know about it.
People do stupid chit, always have.

As much as I am shocked by Hunters actions , I am equally shocked by what appears to be a lack of action, punishment, accountability by the promoter. I have met Randy when I was working as starter at Silver Dollar raceway. The man I remember I don’t believe would let this go or sweep it under the rug. I wasn’t there and have no idea what transpired between the parties involved. The lack of a public statement by the promoter while his right, does give some doubt as to what if any punishment the racer/car owner faced. Just my opinion so you all know what it’s worth.

Millennials expect authorities to police everything.
This kind of stuff has always gone on, the perpetrators would learn their lesson before everything was caught on camera, with just a handful of people knowing about it.

Remember this is the same promoter that a few years ago stopped the race long enough to allowed Cory Gulitti to switch cars and continue racing after wrecking due to aggressive braking.
There is no defending the action of the racer nor inaction of the promoter, Sponsors, etc. PERIOD, anyone attempting to is part of the problem and the silence from all those involved on every level should tell you loud and clear what these races are all about $! There are no rules, never were at least with some promoters.
Further, anybody that’s been to these promoter’s races with their eyes wide open and their ear to the ground knows there are house cars in play, drugs are being used by some of the winningest drivers and there’s definitely cheating going on in some way and form. This message has been edited. And even a bigger question is what happens now? This crap has a crossed the line. But what if anything will change with these races? What can be done to stop and change this going forward?

I think he should have at least been dq'd from that days race. I thought Cory crashed in Michigan at a sfg race. Maybe not has nothing to do with this topic anyway because that is one of the rules in place. He didn't do anything wrong and wasn't trying to crash somebody like Hunter did.

After sitting on the sidelines for several years now and watching all of these races,I know if I went back at it I would only race "Fling" events when it came to big money.

You aren't wrong. And like someone else mentioned, where is his old man after this happened? And for the DRR member who supposedly defended this, I don't know the details.....but this defending does not match what I have thought about this member. I know they are friends, and he is also the father of a successful young drag racer. I would like to think that my response as the father of a young (and successful in his own right) drag racer would be completely different. There is no obligation to damn a friends son. But good God don't defend it.
