Clearly Sonoma Raceway and NHRA are slowing killing the sport. Sonoma Drags will be gone in the near future, and all of us Nor-Cal sportsman racers will be up Sh*t creek. At his point, it's a once a year race for us. I'm beginning to care less if they stay or go. Once Sonoma goes away, and with the spring Vegas gone, the left coasters have very few options. I'm hoping NHRA will add some Sportsnationals somewhere, so we can compete for points. If not...it may be time to hang it up with NHRA.

Just go to races to have fun and heck with the points. I found another hobby restoring classic cars and motorcycles in between drag racing and I'm enjoying it. Less time racing and more time for car shows and tinkering with my hot rods. Eventually we will run out of drag strips and will have to find something else to do, so might as well start now! Just my 2 cents.
When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

I hear you. I've just always wanted to try and compete for points in NHRA. I have only ran the full schedule a couple times due to my work schedule, and would like to see how I do if I ran the full allotment of races. I'm finally getting to the point in life where I can possibly do it, and of course, we start losing tracks and races in California. Just like everyone on DRR, I'm addicted to this stupid sport, and it's all I know. I know there's other hobbies, just need to go through drag racing rehab to break the habit.
Plus like David mentioned, the local tracks cant handle fast cars, so I'd need to sell the T/D and slow down my S/G car, if we don't get some races in California.

It’s been since July 2020 the last divisional. Still does not sit well with me. Yes I am glad it’s coming back but one has to look at what we lost. You never get that back. This message has been edited. Last edited by: BP758,
